I just don't see how we can acquire Thomas when we already have Scola and Landry if there isn't a second deal in place to move Scola for a SG. Thomas can't play the 5 like how I envision Hill playing for us. And as far as one year rentals are concerned, I'd rather have Scola than Thomas anyways...

As the article says, Morey made this offer (Bud and Mac), so I guess he doesn't think so. Have you honestly watched Iggy ball outside of his games against the Rockets? The guy has game, and is exactly what we need: a great passer who can score AND play hard-nosed D. Sammy would be an overpaid backup to Yao, but still brings more height, shot-blocking and rebounding to our bench brigade. The added bonus of that kind of trade is how it increases Brooks' production (the same way Yao adds to Landry / Scola's production) - not letting the defense key in on him + not making him worry about trying to get his team mates involved as much.

I initially voted for the NY trade, but changed my mind. I watched some youtube clip of Jordan Hill in college and was very underwhelmed. Just doesn't look all that explosive. I rather have Tyrus Thomas, who could be a potential monster next to Yao. I know a lot of people are skeptical of him, but heres what Kelly Dwyer had to say about him:

Just imagine him with our veteren coaching staff and first class organization. Carrol Dawson was able to teach Dorsey some post moves, he can't do any worst with Tyrus Thomas.

And I'm not really sold on those 2 draft picks either. Even if NY strikes out on Lebron\Wade\Bosh, they will still be able upgrade their roster considerably and thats all they need in a fairly weak eastern conference.

Plus we will get Brad Miller, who could be a good backup to Yao, which is important since Yao will probably be limited to 20 or so minutes a game next year.

T-Mac To New York Almost Finalized

The Knicks and Rockets are reportedly finalizing a trade to send Tracy McGrady to New York.

The Knicks have agreed to give the Rockets the right to swap first-round picks in 2011 and the Knicks will send the Rockets their 2012 first-round pick. Details on protections attached to the two picks is the sole issue remaining to be resolved.

The trade creates approximately $9.5 million additional salary cap room this summer and likely gives the Knicks the ability to offer two maximum contracts.

New York would package Jared Jeffries, Jordan Hill and the expiring contract of Larry Hughes to Houston.

All this guy does is go around fan forums and realgm taking interesting stuff and posting on yahoo for some "national" attention. Before he wouldn't even credit his sources until recently. The writing is also amateur at best, sorry. This guy is hardly the authority on real basketball knowledge.

Hopefully all this Bulls/Knicks talk is just bull**** to scare the 76er's into giving us Iguodola and Dalembert.

    A Suggestion

I think the rocket should let Tmac choose the team that he prefers to play for if the offers from CHI and NY are similar.

Some people have said that the rockets treated Tmac unfairly and it would affect the rockets to sign free agents in future. I think this is the best chance for the rockets to repair the image.

I like the Bulls deal better because I want Miller. If the Bulls include a 1st round deal...it will be a done deal i think. The Bulls deal is more enticing with Thomas and Miller. I don't care about offseason weather we can sign Scola or not. I want immediate help rather than waiting for the future. Remember how the Rockets once preach we can no longer invest in the future because the future of winning the Championship is RIGHT now and Yao ain't going to get any younger??
