    Walsh conversing with Morey

Walsh: Hey Daryl, I talked things over with Dolan and he was reluctant to include the 2012 1st in this deal.

    Morey: *silence + Adelman/Deke-like staredown.*

Walsh: Alright. I give. You can have the 2012 1st pick along with the right to swap 2011 1st. Our only condition is that we protect 2012. Come on Daryl, this is my job on the line.

Morey: *ignores Walsh. Starts talking on phantom phone with Chicago* "What? You're offering an unprotected 2010 first and 3 useful rotational players that happen to be expiring this year?"

Walsh: No! Take the pick, take the pick.

Morey: That's not gonna be enough anymore. What else you got?

Haha! Look at the Sixers board, they all wanted to do this trade! The Rockets apparently offered T-Mac and Budinger for Iguodala and Dalembert but the Sixers rejected it. Now, it looks like they are gonna be stuck with his contract because no one else offered anything!

They're looking for a team to give them a pick from Kirk Hinrich so they can trade it to us. It's not part of the deal yet.

Like I said earlier, if we do the Chicago deal for expirings we have to let both Lowry and Scola to only get about 7-8 million in cap space. If we do the NY deal we'll already be over the cap so we can resign Lowry and Scola without worring about cap space being affected, while also having the MLE (5.5-6 Million) to sign someone else. Not to mention the 8th pick of the 2009 draft (Jordan Hill) and 2011/2012 NY 1st rounder.

Oh and NY would not have enough for 2 max; they would have enough for 1 and another close to max contract, not 2 full max contracts.

How can you prefer the Chi trade?

If I'm not mistaken, LBJ's endorsements would go up (maybe 20%?) if he played in LA, NY or Chicago. I'm guessing that would make up for the extra $ that the Cavs could offer.

And the Bulls trade that this dude favors was the

    Miller
    Tyrus
    Salmons
    Hinrich
    Draft pick

    .....
I don't see how this is even possible. That's $32mill in salary. Realjada1 whatever, when that trade scenario was brought up, it wasn't meant for all those players to go to the Rockets. It was meant that the Bulls are hoping for a 3rd team to magically want Hinrich and his $10mill/yr 3 yr contract and give back someone who matches and includes a 1st round draft pick...so it's not really even possible to make that deal.

And we've already gone over the other deals. There is no Hinrich on the Rockets. There are no draft picks with the Bulls scenario. Unless some 3rd team specialty gets involved, the Bulls trade is crap. A 3rd team has to bring something to the table that the Rockets would want.

Right. Because Morey has shown he can't draft in the lower half of the first round or even sound round. Carl Landry, Aaron Brooks, and Chase Budinger would like to say hello to you.

We dont have to keep those picks either. They become assets, if Morey & co. so choose to make them that or use them as that.

Hill plays behind David Lee and Al Harrington arguably the Knicks' 2 most effective players why would they decrease their minutes for an unproven commodity when the 2 have been basically carrying the team

It was Roy Halladay in reverse all over again for Philly...they wanted the moon and stars but now will be stuck for a while longer unless they can make the Amar'e trade work.

and just how exactly do you figure that?

He is already the most marketable player in the league where he is at.

Yall are fallin for the hype...being on a sorry Knicks team is not going to significantly affect how much endorsements he can make.

and also....the sentiment that NY can afford TWO max FAs is not correct. Unless the numbers changed significantly with the switch of Hughes for Harrington, the only way NY has enough for TWO max FAs is if they forget about re-signing David Lee and\or Mcgrady.

The suns wanted to do the Amar'e trade, the problem is the 6ers don't think he will resign.

Tmac and Cbud...not getting anything better than that Philly. They have just failed at playing Moreyball :p

Game story/trade update should be up. Bulls, Kncks offers very similar. Bulls also offer pick, too. Sources: decision tomorrow -- probably.

I think they are going to have Bird rights for those players. So if they sign the two max FA's first, they can still sign Lee and/or McGrady even if they are over the salary cap.

I SWEAR TO GOD that GM of theirs is one stupid mofo! First he says he wants real talent back, which apparently we offered Budinger , but he still rejected it, now he says he doesnt even want Amare, LOL. He said he doesnt want Brand and Amare to play together, LOL. This Stefanski guy is worse than Isaiah Thomas!

Agreed. Big mistake by a team that is stuck in mediocrity and no flexibility cap wise.

Hmmm....I wonder what 3rd team is involved to give us that pick? 1st round, 2nd round? Protected or unprotected? And how similar?
