i think the 2012 pick will be protected (probably anything less than top 10). that's a great deal for both sides. if morey asks for unprotected, he's left with the bulls' offer, which is not very appealing

amare stated his preferred destination last year was NY (if he became a free agent). he states miami now out of the possible choices to be traded to. so i think if amare doesn't get traded, he will sign with NY.

the hawks are not going to give joe johnson the max (that's why joe didn't sign an extension this past summer). and joe johnson wants the max. if that's the case, i expect him to consider the knicks seriously, esp. if they land a bosh/amare.

lets be clear, lebron is not going anywhere. i don't know why NY still thinks it has a chance with lebron.

true. but it sounds very close...

if all that is left is working out the protection on the picks, it's all but done. i don't see that becoming a deal breaker for either side. of course, it's never over until it is approved by the league.

Atlanta is a weak basketball city but you can say the same thing about Houston.... Just turn on the game...

It's too bad we lose the game tonight, I'm guessing Hill isn't going to make that much of a difference, at least not anytime soon.

that's also true. he's been known to say the crowds dont' support the team enough.

and we can see the same with miami as they barely draw half if you see their games.

all i'm saying is NY has a very good chance of landing somebody that is an established all-star. no lebron though.

i think that might have been negotiated away.

walsh asked for the rockets 2010 first round pick... i think morey had to give back the second round pick to keep our first rounder.

Let us all hold hands and pray that the 2012 pick is unprotected

Only if no one else wants them for the max. The true max-level players will play the Knicks like a fiddle and force their own teams' hands into a sign and trade where they can get max money. Can see it from a mile away.

But you need to put in consideration that NY could possibly be the biggest losers over this off season. Amar'e has flip-flopped for the past two years.

The Hawks are not known for Max contracts but I heard that Atlanta has offered him a max contract extension before the season started. He didn't want to sign it.

Let's face the facts... NY has to land someone before any of the big names will go there. As it stands right now, the Nets have a better chance landing someone than the Knicks. The nets have more to offer then the Knicks from a talent perspective.

I like all the picks and J. Hill for the future, but Al Harrington would help us more this year than Hughes. I'm not sure I like this deal without Al
