Scanner help please

I'm tryin to scan pics for my website. It scans okay but its always monochrome. Example everything will be a shade of either green or pink. What the hell is going on? What color profiles should I use?

I don't know if this will help you, but how many colors is your OS set to display? It should be set at millions of colors. Just go into your control panel and look for display or settings...something like that. Sorry I can't be more help. It's just a thought. If there are colors in the picture that your OS does not recognize, it will display it as some way out color.
