Seriously a OLB? Why do people insist on drafting people into our box? I think we are set there.. We need to invest in a new lineman (OL) or get a high quality CB or FS
Certainly not. I've been scouting mock drafts for the past decade, and that is just one of the things I have learned. These guys are good at what they do, but you won't see a lot of accuracy past the teens anyway because after that it becomes increasingly difficult to forecast if teams are going to draft for need or take the best available player.
The ONLY linebacker I would even think about taking is Rolando McClain from Alabama. This guy is going to be a star in this league and I don't think you can pass on stars to fill need positions (Amobi over Patrick Willis)
you've been scouting mock drafts for over 10 years?! impressive . i've been sidelining as a country singer for the past few, so i've fallen out of touch with the internets. Is everything that's put on it still true?
WHere does it say an OLB? it says Houston TexansRecord: 9-7 Brian Price*, DT, UCLAPrice is hidden away a bit in such a deep class of defensive linemen, but he's a disruptive force who utilizes great leverage. He should add depth to an improving defense. which would be great imo
If Spiller and Thomas are gone at 20 we should look at Kyle Wilson cb Boise State. 2nd Rd Joe Mcknight.
Lance Z's mock looks to be more accurate. I don't know what kind of sources Mel has or uses, but in Kansas City newspapers, radio hosts and Chiefs message boards/bloggers: almost all keep hinting that Scott Pioli has basically told them if Rolando McClain is available KC is going to draft him.
Probably a bull**** smokescreen to scare somebody into trading up. KC would be foolish not to take Okung.
I doubt his prospects as an NFL player but i think hell go somewhere between the 3rd-5th round. It just takes one team to take a gamble on him, and I think there are going to be some coaches out there that see a "versatile" player with potential. Here's my question: If people are talking about making him a linebacker or a TE, why don't they just draft a legit/natural LB or TE who has experience at that position, instead of a guy who spent his entire career playing QB? I can understand the move to playing some sort back, because he rushed alot in college but other skill positions just blows my mind
While that should be his fate, he'll get drafted probably in rounds 5-7. Hell, even Eric Crouch got drafted.
he will go late. I'm really curious about Colt. I've heard that the nerve injury he had could permanently cause some weakness in his arm...which is not good for a guy whose arms strength was already in question.
Jacksonville needs him to save their marketing and excite the fans. But I'm pretty sure someone is going to screw Jacksonville.
My guess is that if the Jags don't get him, no one will. His best hope is to become Owen Daniels pt 2.
My thoughts exactly. Here is the Texans rankings: Code: O D Points 10 17 Total Yards 4 13 Pass Yards 1 18 Run Yards 30 12 The run offense needs to be addressed. The best guard in the draft will likely be available at #20. A high quality guard should be available in the second round, if the Texans draft pass D in the first. A better run offense plus a better kicker should help the red zone efficiency and the overall points per game. The pass defense also needs to be address. The Texans do not have a shut down CB. There might not be a high quality CB left at #20. The Texans would have to trade up. The best FS might still be available, but would not have the same impact on the team. My preference would be to trade down in the first and get a shut down CB, if possible.
Tebow will go to the Patriots just watch. Billichick is fond of "character" guys and he is looking to add the wildcat to his playbook. New England would be perfect fit for a project like Tim who could sit back and learn from Brady. Anyway the Texans should go for Thomas if he is available or pick the best player still out there. Enough of drafting DTs like Okoye, Duane Brown and giving up stars like Patrick Willis, Chris Johnson. Find the best prospect available then worry about filling holes by other means.
You are overestimating the talent of the Patriots to invest in a project when they are so thin at receiver and generally weak on defense.
