After hearing the NYK deal I would not want to do a Jamison and Miller trade Jamison's contract is going to big the 10 ton rock that is going to anchor this team down for the next few years. I much prefer the young talent and pick and the ability to keep scola and lowry through next year.

Also we can use the picks and scola/landry etc to package in a deal for a real young all-star type player to a team that is looking to shed money or get out of a contract...5 years ago i would have been fine with the jamison deal but he is already past the age of 30 and has plenty of recent injuries.

you do not want to be overpaying for talent especially with the new cba looming

Miller's contract expires this season and Jamison could be insurance for Scola. Also, with Yao coming back next season, Jamison could play great with him. He stretches the defense and is a 39 % three point shooter. I guess when Morey was on 610 last Thursday about the details being wrong in the Y! Sports report, he was saying we will probably get Jamison rather than Butler.

I agree with YOYO, Jamison is the best player to get out there but i don't know you do that deal with his age and contract and if thats the only thing left for mcgrady, i would take him. I like the NYC deal better

Exactly. I'm glad someone else sees my point. We don't need another pf when we have so much. Wing scoring and that's it. Maybe a pg but who knows. If it's true that the rockets are talkin to the blazers about bayless then that's gonna be great. Andersen for bayless morey better jump all over that

yes but IMO jamison doesn't fill a need as much as getting a SG/SF who can create we have Landry and Scola both of whom are younger and will command less money than Jamison.

what if there is a hard cap or a smaller lux tax gap? that 15 million could be disastrous for the rockets from keeping their own FA in the summer of 2011 (brooks, landry, Yao, Battier) so no to jamison at all please

We need a 'true SG' ... with this trade we are loaded with C's and PF's

    C: Hayes/Milicic/Anderson/Dorsey
    PF: Scola/Landry/Blatche/Hill/Cook

Now why in the world would we do that?
You need a second and maybe a third trade extra to get a SG ...

One more PF I can see, that's why I'm okay with getting Hill. Because we might have to lose Scola this off-season. But two power forwards and a center? That doesn't make much sense to me, half our team is big men then.

1 more big Man added to the roster and none of the guys that's been mentioned are expiring. So now u add Yao to the picture and u have a crowed frontcourt. I hope morey sees what he is doing but if he doesn't oh well. Can't win em all

Big men- Yes but all of them pale to the big men of the western teams. Defense wise, the team is being abused by the opponent's big men.

Eh, I'm not sure I agree. Occasionally this happens, but Hayes has been surprisingly holding his own against a lot of opposing centers, and Landry has been better than I expected. Dorsey has the ability to become a big defensive presence. And obviously, a healthy Yao pales in comparison to nobody, when it comes to centers.

Scola is the one who gets burned most frequently.
