So does it have to be something cheesy like this? CCR and LegendZ make some great hype vids... <object width="388" height="394" classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="ep"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="movie" value="http://i.cdn.turner.com/nba/nba/.element/swf/1.1/cvp/nba_embed_container.swf?context=rockets_416x234&videoId=teams/rockets/2010/02/11/MortalCombatmov-1228685" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><embed src="http://i.cdn.turner.com/nba/nba/.element/swf/1.1/cvp/nba_embed_container.swf?context=rockets_416x234&videoId=teams/rockets/2010/02/11/MortalCombatmov-1228685" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" bgcolor="#000000" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="388" wmode="transparent" height="394"></embed></object>
I just looked over the official rules and it's pretty vague about content. It just says it needs to be a 45 second (or less) video that will get the crowd's attention and get them excited during a timeout. So I guess the possibilities are pretty endless. The only problem I see is that all the game footage and pretty much any professional music used to make this type of video is copyrighted. Making a video just for fun and to put on YouTube is different than submitting it to be played in an NBA arena. Hmm...
Since that Mortal Kombat one is cheezy...I though about just taking this power ranger video, making everyone red, turn every ranger into our starting 5, and finish off the transformation with Clutch's head. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKIgtACGayM Seems simple enough, but oh well...don't feel like doing it.
It really is vague, like if you are allowed to use NBA clips...or if it has to be something you create like an animation or just a video of YOU saying get up Houston etc...
I would be willing to make the video and also its own music but I havent beend downloading videos either ..... If anyone has video clips or know how to find them let me know asap and ill jump on it........
I hope one of you guys get it. You'll probably get pretty decent seats too, maybe even court side. As for the copyright stuff... I thought the clips are technically owned by the NBA, and since the Rockets are a part of the NBA, showing downloaded clips at the Toyota Center would be fine. I don't know if that logic made sense, but maybe that's why they didn't mention any copyright stuff in the prereq. Now as far the the music goes... that could have it's own legal problems.
In the "Official Rules" PDF file it says all the usual stuff about only submitting original materials that are created and/or owned by you. So again...I don't know.
Hey Yoyo, did you ever notice that Hakeem tweeted a link to your Dream video? http://twitter.com/thedr34m Not sure if its actually him or not, but if so that's pretty cool.
never knew that if thats actually his official twitter (or his PR teams) that is pretty sweet thanks for making my day
