[CHRONIC] Do you like Jordan Hill? He could be Morey's price for doing a McGrady deal

I do like Hill. He's obviously got size and athleticism we lack up front. I memory serves, he didnt start playing basketball until he was late in HS so his game does need to be more refined.

Jamison can do what Scola and Landry can't do and thats forcing teams to cover him all the way out to the 3pt line. Jamison is a very tough matchup for big PFs and smaller PFs and he would give Yao all the room in the world to operate down in the block.

More details have come about the potential trade. Rockets would exchange draft picks in 2011 and get NY's 2012 1st round draft pick. NY might even give up their 2010 2nd round draft pick. :p

Maybe we could trade for Mike James! He managed 22 points per game on an awesome 27-55 Raptors team!

As I said before, NY would have to include more assets or we would move on. NY is offering 2-3 draft picks.

... as long as take Jared Jeffries off their hands, who no team wanted. You forgot about that part. He wasn't in the initial trade offer in this thread, and thus why the Jordan Hill is fair sentiment was strong.

Oh - and that's exactly the same as Jamison, who has only ever scored 20ppg over the course of a season once in his career - right? right? right?

They made the playoffs only 2 seasons ago with Jamison scoring 21.4ppg (10.2 rebounds too).

Personally I don't like his contract situation, but you can't scoff at Jamison from a playing perspective...
And to make comparisons to Mike James is downright rude.

The current Wizards team is running at nearly the exact same winning percentage as James' Raptors team (off by 2/100ths). The year when he played on a genuinely good team is my point of comparison. Unless things go horribly wrong, the Rockets would not be running the offense through Jamison. This year, Jamison is averaging more than 20 attempts per game. For comparison, Yao averaged 17 the year he scored 25/game. Last year, it was a much more modest 13 attempts per game. Jamison operates currently with the kind of ball domination that T-Mac showed his first couple of years here. If the Rockets trade for Jamison and jam the ball in to him like that (especially if Yao is on the floor), I will gouge my eyeballs out.

So look at the Dallas numbers, age him nearly a decade, and give him a $15 mil salary. I would rather have Scola for half the money. Heck, at the very end of those three years, I think I'd probably take even odds on Scola being a better player straight up.

At the same age as Jamison, Glen Rice was coming off a decade of back-to-back-to-back all star appearences. He averaged 15 points a game on a Lakers team that won 67 games. He was considered perhaps the greatest pure shooter in the game. Three years later, every Rockets fan on the planet should be able to remember what a "great player" he was. If I offered you an option to sign Rocket's Glen Rice, would you pay him $15 million dollars per for what he did a decade before in Miami and Charlotte?

If they could get all those picks, plus last years 8th pick in the 6'10 Hill, plus 6'11 Jeffries and a 6'9 Al Harrinton. I could easily live with that as well.

New York, all your draft picks belong to me.

I really hope trading away their future works out for the Knicks.

If Wade/James/Stoudemire/others don't sign with the Knicks, being a NY fan is gonna suck even more so (than right now) for 4-5 more years.

Here goes my preferred trade. It's much better than Jordan Hill and misc. trade fodder.

That is the same trade that we've been talking about all day with a minor variation.

But if it lets you save face to think otherwise, fine.

Jordan Hill is trash. Lets trade battier(trash too) for some picks as well. Might as well go with a big bang in the 2010 draft night.

He is an ok player with some upside. If he works hard,he can become a good player, but there are many lottery players who have done better than him.

I have been saying all along that the Rockets could get more than Jordan Hill. He's just a trade sweetner. I have been pushing for draft picks and other assets, but you said that Jordan Hill was the best risk/reward in your analysis.

You didn't expect anything better than Hill or Iggy/Dalembert. I suspected all along their would be better trade assets, such as draft picks or a 3rd team with players involved.

Ya sure. He's a lottery pick with potential.
