This is the only deal worth doing. Include anyone not named Brooks or Landry to make it happen.

    Jamison? Really?

Talk about a guy that costs money and doesn't come close to putting us over the top. I'd rather take Hill and Tyrus and get in that Lottery...

What you must realize, as Rileydog, was saying is that when we get Yao back next season we are not re-building anymore. Jamison would be a good compliment to Yao. Thats all there is too it.

If Jamison can put up good numbers being guarded.just think of what he would put with yao giving him open looks all game long.

And that does NOT make us serious contenders... So you must realize, that we want championships, and Jamison and Yao alone will not bring that.

Guess what players we lose when we have to pay Jamison next year?

I'm not sure Jamison would be the answer for us next year, but I don't think taking on Jamison really causes us to lose out on the free market frenzy of next year. It's been well documented that sitting on McGrady's contract and letting it expire would still not give us the flexibility to go after a Wade, Bosh, Lebron, etc.

I wouldn't touch Eddy "Chicken" Curry or his contract with a 10 foot pole. There's a reason why the Knicks are desperate to get rid of him. His contract sucks, he has questionable work ethic, and repeatedly shows up to training camp overweight. Can u imagine Curry in Houston? Especially since Houston has one of the most McDonalds in the US.

We would not have the money to re-sign Kyle Lowry and Luis Scola...

I wouldn't trade Lowry for Jamison straight up, let alone Scola. That, and we would still be stuck with Arizier... If we can't get an impact player at the SG, we need to get in the damn lottery and start rebuilding. Start the collection of young assets and get in full development mode...

Miami is one of the teams most desperate to maximize their 2010 cap room, since they can conceivably re-sign Wade to the max AND sign another max player. No way they jeopardize that in order to add Shane Battier. That said, he does strike me as a "Pat Riley kind of player". Still, no way Miami takes back ongoing salary unless they're adding a star player (i.e., Stoudemire, Jamison at worst).

At least in regards to Scola, we have his Bird rights so I don't think we'd be hurt in our ability to resign him (but please tell me if I'm wrong). As for Lowry, we'd still have our MLE next season and I don't think that Lowry will command the full MLE from anyone. Again, I'm not sure that Jamison is the right move, but I don't think it hurts us in the free market move game.

fwiw: Bob Allen(ABC 13) said tonight he's told the Rockets would like to get Andre Iguodala and would probably require taking back Dalembert.
Of course a very bland statement so again, tifwiw

Don't think we have the MLE. We used it on Ariza and you don't get it two years in a row if I'm not mistaken

You don't get the bi-annual exception two years in a row, I think you get the MLE every year. But, I could be wrong.

Maybe we can throw Al Harrington plus one of New York's pick for Iggy?

Hell no, unless we keep Hill. I have a feeling if he comes here, he will shock everyone! I rather have Jamison than Iguodala.
