I agree. It was a shady business move, but a smart one at that. Landry is worth much more than what he is currently paid, but I won't lie and say that Morey was wrong in the way he did things. It paid off.

i think those trades changed him where he's not as attached anymore. Unfortunately that's prob why he's playing like crap as well.

No, he was here in 05, got traded to toronto for Rafer...he blew up in Tor, which allowed him to sign a nice deal with Minny. then The rockets pursued him again and traded juwan for him. I think it was messed up bc he did well here, but the staff basically said they needed a more traditional point, not a scoring point, so they sent him off, only to later admit they needed that scoring point afterall. By then he had lost his groove though..

Short term smart perhaps. But long term remains to be seen.

Rashard gets my vote, with honorable mention to Landry. I, admittedly, don't know enough about the Barkley thing.

    David Robinson.

What the Rockets (Hakeem, really) did with him was border line illegal.

    ;)

    I tell you, Houston GM's can't win.

If they "respect" a player, they get bashed for all of the bad contracts they handed out (Kelvin Cato, Mo Taylor, Moochie Norris).

If they "disrespect" a player while making sure the team doesn't get screwed by a bad contract, they get bashed for hurting feelings.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather have guys be a little grumpy over tough negotiations than to dole out massive, multi-year contracts to the worst possible candidates.
