aint that the truth. yao would be gone if it werent for the business china brings. no one in their right mind would keep an oft injured center without at LEAST putting him on the block

So the Mavs got Butler and now we're ****ed! In the words of Dennis Green, if you wanna crown their ass, then crown 'em! There was this same talk this past offseason by some. "Dallas got Marion!! WTF we gonna do?! " or "San Antonio is getting Jefferson!! Where the F is Morey at in all of this!? We need to make a move NOW! "

Where the hell is Butler taking us this season or next? 1 and done? Sure he is a nice piece, but darn, I would have thought Dallas acquired LeBron James or Kobe Bryant the way some are acting around here. Patience is a virtue! Get some! Sure we want a move to be made, but Morey isn't making a move just to make a move. Some said that Brooks and Landry, Lowry, and Scola are just about untradeable or untouchable. Now all the sudden that it's reported that they didn't want to trade them or part with them, you're freaking out. Some of you's want a move for the sake of making a move. Why? We need a voice of reason around here. Just because the cross town rivals made a move doesn't mean we hurry and go make a move and nor should we panic.

    PATIENCE! DO NOT PANIC! PLEASE!

You know, just because Les isn't a r****ded playboy who can't throw 20 million towards wonderful players like Dorsey does not mean he is cheap. Given your massive Cuban worship (as he isn't cheap, just a douche), go head over the Mavs forums.

Yeah, paying Swift 30 million took balls, all right. And a lack of brains too.

    Put yourself into his position.

You have a healthly Yao who is probably the best center in the nba. Now Yao is out for the season when we expected big things.

You have Tracy McGrady who is a star and you get to know that he has microfracture surgery and will probably never be the same.

You can't do anything special in the draft because all you have is #20+ draft pick in the first round, and couple of 2nd rounders.

Those are very difficult things to overcome.

Let's wait and see. It may be Daryl's chance.

Nah, just a McGrady fan going "WAAAHHH MCGRADY WAS MEAN TO THE GREATEST PLAYER EVAR AND NOW HOUSTON WILL BE DOOMED WAAAAAH."

Annoying that they've come out once again with this deal.

    Kelvin Cato
    Matt Maloney
    Mo Taylor
    Moochie for 23 million
    Scottie Pippen for scrubs
    Dan Langhi
    Rod Rhodes

    I can't even keep track.

This thread is dumber than Reggie Evans in an interview.

The problem with your unconcealed sarcasm is that many of the posters here, including yourself maybe, write as if Brooks and Landry are so untouchable that one might think they are the second coming of Stockton and Malone. You did get the point where I was coming from, and that is, these players are low picks for a reason and they should not be projected to be among the main players in the future of the Rockets.

As far as Morey, go ahead and drink the kool aid. I will wait and see.

I thought this was going to be a joke thread. Well, I guess it is a joke... but I digress. Morey is doing ridiculously well, and just because we didn't get Caron Butler, you lose faith in him? The trade deadline ain't even here yet, and even if Morey doesn't pull a trigger, I'd still take him over Dawson in a heartbeat. If you want tmac gone that badly (your moniker is stacymcgrady, after all), then go up to him personally and breathe onto his knee; he'd probably crumble and leave Houston, which is something this city deserves!

On Artest, last I heard, you're not an oracle. It's sad when we're sitting here wondering "What could have been". Looking at Ariza and Artest right now, Artest would bring so much energy and strength to the table than Ariza.

OOH!!! YEAH! Remember when Clutch talked about Ariza starting drama in games w/ his teammates? At least Artest would hold that **** in for after the games. Oh, and Artest can be considered a Veteran, and can talk smack if he wants to his teammates. Ariza can't. But he still does.

And the 5-spot, I think we had Dorsey ready to go. A ready shot-blocker with poor-mans Ben Wallace and DHoward written all over his face.

Yeah, Hayes is not that bad, he does all the little things. But he's an embarrassment as a STARTING 5. Andersen is an over-sized mid-range to 3-range shooter, and can't play the post worth a damn.

The biggest face-palm is when there's a turn-over by Andersen when he fails to post up, or when Hayes misses a CRAZY pass to Brooks. Yeah, our biggest problem is the lack of size and presence at the paint.

I'll give you that DM has done all he could to fill that 5-spot. But it looks fugly right now. And we should've used Dorsey LONG TIME GO.

Hi, I'm CD. You may remember me from such transactions made with balls as:

    Maurice Taylor
    Moochie Norris
    The Future for Barkley
    and Kelvin Cato

    ...

Come on man. He's doing you a favor. He's keeping McGrady so your moniker would still be relevant in a Houston Rockets forum

The fact is that they are very good, ridiculously cheap (Brooks is probably the best point guard in the league relative to the amount we pay him) and young, so if we're going to trade them, we want someone pretty damn good for them. I don't see what you can't understand for them, and frankly I would not be interested in trading Brooks + whatever talent we have to throw in to make 9 million dollars in salary for Caron Butler, even though I've been pretty high on him. I wouldn't Butler is 10 times the player Brooks is, and given that we have only 2 PGs including Brooks, you have another problem there.

Thread would have been more appropriate for February 19th, if no trade happens.

Sure, I'm not an oracle. I'm a historian. And if NBA history tells me that Artest has a history of going nuts on mediocre teams where he's the leader ( see Indiana after the brawl, Sacramento), then he'll do it where he's the leader of a mediocre team (which we are for the moment).

Actually, I don't remember Clutch saying that. I DO remember Clutch saying this:

    Archive Thread

Joey Dorsey. An unproven rookie who had well known work ethic issues in his first year should start over an intelligent person with a history of hard work who knows how to play defense.
Pardon me while I try to get off the floor from laughing. Dorsey is an interesting prospect, but he is in no way superior to Hayes even now when he's had plenty of time to develop in D-League.
