Hey guys! Another tax question here, i filed my taxes with turbo tax on the first of february, turbo tax i should get my refund on the 12th (today), it hasnt come in yet though... i checked the irs site and they said my funds would be available BY the 16th... so am i expecting my funds to be deposited right on at the 12th? Or right at the 16th? since the IRS said BY the 16th, i was thinking ill be getting the funds sometime in between the 12th and the 16th. I was also wondering if its possible for my returns to have been deposited to my bank already but it hasnt shown yet, and if thats the case, would it show on a saturday...? thanks in advance!
How about you just wait until the 16th and go from there. If I had to venture a guess, I would say that the snow definitely had everything to do with your delay.
well im getting a lil nervous because valentine's day is coming and..... you know if i don't treat out the fiance, if i dont make her  , i wont be able to have some and if thats the case ill be very
A lot of people that had the 12th didn't get their deposits today. Snowstorm is to blame. Check the IRS site. My family's was also set to deposit today but the date was moved to the 23rd.
It is really dependent upon your bank. The IRS makes the deposits for electronic returns on Friday but some banks take 2-3 business days to post the funds to the account. The IRS said my mother's funds were to be available by the 16th as well but her funds showed up today. I would only worry if they were not available by the 16th. As oomp said above, sometimes the IRS delays the processing and pushes your date back a week or so.
Is this true? I am going to be filing for the first time because I actually made money this past summer, but I don't really want to go pay someone else to do it. I don't have any crazy thing so people told me something like Turbo Tax would do the job. I had a 2-month summer job, a scholarship, a grant, and a stipend (about $450) and that constitutes all my income. I do have school loans. So would that be hard for me to do? Or would I be able to do that on my own?
i think he was being sarcastic about Turbo Tax. and it will do the job just fine for you.. You may even be eligible for the free version (1040EZ) depending on what else you have going on
Turbo Tax is fine I've used it a couple of years now. I'm sure it had something to do with the snow storm, give it a little time.
Turbo Tax said that I would see the refund in my bank account by 2/10 and it showed up on 2/11. If your date was 2/12 and they were a day late (like they were with me), then 2/16 would be the next business day because of Presidents' Day on 2/15. Hope that helps.
strange.... i checked the irs site and now its delayed to the 23rd... geez.. first the 12th, then the 16th, then the 18th, now the 23rd...
You must really need that money to be making a thread about why havent you received, when the IRS clearly stated "funds would be available by the 16th"
they said that on the 12th, now the 16th, then the 18th, then the 23rd... if its your own hard earned money you'd probably be worried too or at least wonder about it. And yes i really do NEED that money because that money could lessen headaches by having something extra to pay your bills with
Turbo Tax worked for me for the last 3 years. The irs gives an estimate of when it will be deposited, not a definite date. They electronically send the funds to banks every Friday and estimate a few business days ahead when you'll get them. Last year, they were a 2 weeks late on my refund, but this year, I got it on time.
You could have a delay if something you put down did not match in their computers and they have to check it manually. That's what happened to me last year. My digital signature didn't match my previous year's. Or you could be one of the unlucky ones that gets a random audit.
