Alright Clutchfans. Caron's gone, so let's dump the latest iggy rumors here and pump this thread back up.

There may be information imbedded in the 6,000 trade rumor threads, but let's compile Iggy info here.

There is a reason this thread went quiet/dead and has had no updates, don't ya think? And not insightful because not what you want to hear?

    1. If they weren't willing to part with any prospects for Butler, why would they for Iguodala? Yeah, Philly wants a prospect or two and no you don't get Speights or Young back in return.

    2. Gotta figure in future salary cap stuff, especially if there is a hard cap implemented. Iggy and potentially Yao take up a lot of that space and that's only 2 players on your team. Morey makes deals for now and the future. Not just for now or just for the future.

    3.
    See? Dormant, dead.

    4. Is Iggy make you or push you over the top and are you contending for a championship? If not, you're stuck with him. I cant tell what Morey is thinking but it would seem like he wouldn't think Iggy pushes them over the top. And you sure are paying him a lot if he doesn't as I mentioned.

    5. Clutch and Jason Friedman have mentioned this, having Iggy and Ariza is redundant. Neither great long range shooters, which the Rockets greatly need, especially when Yao comes back.

But go ahead, wish, pray, speculate, hope, tell yourself, do whatever to think that Iggy is coming here or that a deal is still alive. I, nor anyone else, should stop you.

    Rox get Iggy/Larry Hughes = 25.9
    - Rox get their SG and a 13 million dollar expiring contract but do go up on LT by about 3 or so million.

    Sixers get Amar'e = 16.4
    - Sixers get their replacement star and assuming he will not opt out of which the Sixers would be ok with. They also trim about 8 million of salary for this season and of course over 25 million next season if Amar'e does opt out.

    Suns get Dalembert/Harrington = 22.1
    - Phx gets a good solid center and a replacement for Amar'e through the rest of the season then it becomes expiring.

    Knicks get TMAC/Dudley = 24.2
    - Knicks get their dude and a solid role player that does have one more year but only at just over 2 million which should have no effect on their ability to acquire a superstar.

    hsf,

    A couple of thoughts.

    1. That's a lot of crankiness over there.

    2. Thanks for posting that one rumor/update. That was helpful.

    3. Philly may be asking for young talent. True. But they want to dump Dalembert's contract more. We're talking 12MM this year and next. And Iggy's not performing, they're losing, and nobody's watching.

    4. So, Tmac gets them the salary relief. What young talent then do they require? Hard to tell. If it's just buddinger, that's probably not a deal breaker. Scola? still possible. The bigger question is whether Morey/Les is willing to eat Dalembert's contract next year.

    5. Dalembert a poison pill that few are willing to swallow, so the market's not great out there.

And so you know, I'm not sold that this is a good move. But I'm curious as hell about what we might do .... hence I'd like to track the rumors and such, without crankypants fanposts. I think a lot of folks here are likewise interested, whether they're for, against or undecided as to this potential deal.

Fair enough. Many are curious and itching to find out what we might do. Too hard to tell, Morey said this himself. :) However, I myself dont care to talk about rumors or deals that are dead or appear to be dead and not likely to happen, especially if there are reports it likely wont happen. But again, all fair points. Continue on. :)

I disagree AI and Ariza are redundant. Battier and Ariza are far more so and they start together.

AI and Ariza are fine as long as only one starts. Ariza should go to the bench. Brooks, AI, Battier isn't too bad. Lowry, Ariza, Budinger, Landry off the bench.

I wish, somehow, that bumping this thread to the top over and over meant the trade was more likely with every bump...

Can't dispute that. However, my guess is that if we did acquire a SG, Battier and not Ariza(the future SF) goes to the bench.
