I found "Songs for the Deaf" on the web it is currently annoying my neighbors mightily. Hea-vy man! Anybody heard this one yet? Kind of concept album centered around a bunch of radio stations..it's like one of Roger Waters first solo albums mixed with the irreverence of the Grand Theft Auto III radio bits. The songs are really awesome, too. They still bring the total stoner rawk low end heaviness and great melodies. There are some new types of song...early contender for album of the year, along with the new ones from the Flaming Lips, Supergrass and the other Elvis Costello.

I envy those of you in Houston..you get to see the Queens of the Stone Age play with ...and you know us by the trail of dead at the Verizon! Tour of the year (and longest marquee needed)! Intense jealousy from New Zealand!

Supergrass has an album coming out in October..I just love them so much that I am already touting them as having one the best albums of the year. My wife heard their new single on the radio and she said it is really fast and heavy.

Hmmm.....I wonder if they're going back to the style on their first album. I'd like that. You can't go wrong with "Caught by the Fuzz", "Alright", or "Sitting up Straight". I also liked the B-sides that came with "In it for the Money".

Incidentally, there's a Supergrass tribute song called "Ode to S.G." by a band called The Katies on the latter's Elektra records debut.
