[KHOU] Charles Barkley: Rockets have 'disrespected' Tracy McGrady

who cares he may say it like he sees it but the fact is he has not won a damn thing he is the same as ewing malone and stockton

 

that's better than being Tracy McGrady any day of the week any day of the year or just any day. Give me players that can take us to the Finals over players who waste cap space any day.

 

Who wouldn't want to be a guy whose made somewhere in the neighborhood of approx. 180 million in his lifetime?

I like how the other dude put hall of fame players who were MVPs and took their teams to the finals and compare them to Tracy.

Since I've been on Clutchfans, all the loonies have compared him to Kobe and even Michael Jordan.

I think there are only a few players in Rockets history you can compare to Jordan.

As I recall, the plan was to let him earn his minutes. By all rights, he shouldn't have even had the opportunity to get back on the court after the stunts he pulled. However, the organization was gracious enough to let him play. He was promised nothing but the opportunity. He did nothing of significance with that opportunity, nothing to earn any extra playing time.

Adelman made it clear that McGrady would play if he fit in with the team and had an overall positive effect. He didn't. McGrady got pissed because he wasn't able to showcase himself for a contract at the expense of the rest of the team. You think any self-respecting organization is going to dig itself a hole just so some whiny has-been quitter can pull a better contract next year?

The Rockets didn't treat McGrady any worse than he deserved.

You give him 7mins to play and judge him on that? If he scores/shots a lot, you'll blame him for not playing team ball. If he plays within the system and doesn't shoot/score as much, you say he doesn't deserve more minutes. Laughable. No way can you make a judgment call with so little playing time in so few games. I wouldve rathered him play 2-3 games @ 15 or so min.... then you can see what he's really capable of.

 

It has nothing to do with my judgment of his play. It has to do with the fact that Adelman didn't feel his play warranted extra PT at that point in time. Instead of rolling with it and doing what was asked of him, he went and cried to the media again. I was fine with him getting more minutes as the season progressed, but he shot his own dumb self in the foot by publicly questioning and criticizing the organization.

 

i agree with barkley. Other players are taking notice about this and how the fans act n probally wont wana come here

 

Let's see. McGrady apologists love to point out how he once scored "13 in 33" -- so in 7 minutes (roughly 13 times as much as 33), he should be able to score about 170 points.
