How would you feel if we don't make a trade for Tmac before the trade deadline?

I read how people are saying if we trade for Butler how he would work well with Yao. With Yao on the team, we need all the spot up shooters we can get, and Butler is no shooter. Have anyone looked at his stats? Its bas maybe worst then Ariza's. It takes him 15 shots a game to get 16-17 points and I don't remember the exact number but I can tell you his 3 point % is worst then Arzia's. With that said, I would just buyout the contract.

the situation im hoping for is we don't trade tmac and develop our young players. we should be able to get a decent draft pick out of that. i also hope we would be able to sign a solid FA. who wouldn't wanna play with yao, a bunch of hustle role players who do the dirty work and hopefully a solid rookie?

This window of opportunity with Yao is closing quickly. We don't have the luxury of thinking about the impact a draft pick will have. Rookies take at least 3 years to fully develop. We need to be thinking about 2010! Make a trade.

If they do not make a trade then all this BS about Les being willing to go over the Lux taxline will be further exposed.

There are deals out there which make the team better, but many put the Rockets over the taxline next year.

A one time hit, but if they are more intersested in getting "UNDER THE LINE" then being contenders.

This deal will further expose it....

I'd be very very upset if nothing happens, but that is mostly due to my impatience with this year's team.

Realistically, we should not judge Morey until after this offseason. If maneuvers his way to getting a max contract player or a very good player for next season, I will be happy. This season does not really matter in a long-term point of view.

I won't be pissed, but I prefer a trade because it gives us more control over the outcome of this. Houston has never been a big time destination from Free Agents. Maybe with Yao back and these supporting players that might change... but with a trade you do cash in your chips for sure... that is if you can negotiate one!

Wrong! This was tried and failed big time. Instead of looking at his stat, spend a few dollars and get league pas and watch the games.

There can be little doubt that Les is willing to take a hit on buying draft picks etc, the Rockets cash flow allows him to do that.

But he has NEVER taken a Lux tax hit, even with all the lip service about doing so.....

Actions speak louder than words my friend.

Paul allen was buying 1st rd draft picks like they were going out of style. The pistons 1st rd pick was for sale this year big time and he balked because it wasprobably double what the salary of those 2nd rd picks would've been. I believe my lying eyes more than my lying ears. It always sound good about preying on teams and this and that, but as you said, action speaks louder than words.

Agreed on Allen but you know as well as I that the risk of first round picks is more than just the initial outlay of cash, it requires a longer term committment than a 2nd round pick.

Makes no sense to stand pat. If there is no trade then the Rockets would get absolutely nothing from the highest paid player in the league. It's one thing if he was hurt but he is "healthy". The team would not have banished him if they werent planning on moving him so if nothing gets done I would be very upset.

I'd be disappointed just because I want to see a trade, but wouldn't be upset. At the very least MerGady won't be able to play, which pleases the heck out of me. Next season he'll be another year older and another step slower. He'll probably still be able to play some decent ball after next season, but not for that long.

A lot of people are saying the Rockets have mishandled the situation, but I'm siding with Morey on this one. He'll get us out of his slump next season. Remember, this year wasn't supposed to be a contending year for us anyways.
