Also, Monta Ellis leads the league in turn-overs. But I still wouldn't mind having him in a Rockets Uniform.

Maggette is the "bad contract" I would be willing to take in a deal for Randolph. I think Ellis, while a better player then Maggette, is the worse contract. He makes more and its longer years I believe. He does shoot a good percentage and can diffently fill it up, he just seems redundent with Brooks on the team. Maggette, on the other hand, does fill a need of a wing scorer. With TA and SB as the current wings, it seems like a strong scoring wing player would fit right in on the current roster.

Also, I don't believe there is any way Golden State is giving up Curry while Nelson is around.

Brooks+Ellis is redundant like DD calls Shane and Trevor......... But way worse.

Between Golden State and The Clips I wouldn't mind seeing the Rockets approach the Clippers first. I'd offer them McGrady/Dorsey/Taylor/Pick for Gordon/Kaman/Camby/2nd Rd Pick.

This gets them out from under Kaman's 10+mil contract over the next 3 years, while giving them cheap young talent to further tank with.

The Rockets would then have all kind of options, but I'm thinking Summer 2010 S&T for Bosh with Kaman being the centerpiece of a deal.

At this point I think that we're the only ones that would give up lottery type players for Battier. I think that they would want some of our cheap contracts back rather than an overpaid Battier.

I go to Golden State games all the time. The thing that they need in the worse way is defense. It will never happen with Don in charge but Battier would be a step in the right direction.

No to Monta Ellis, yes to Maggette with Randolph or Curry.

A lot of people don't realize that Maggette is also a pretty good rebounder on a per-minute basis. He is better at it than any of the wings we have right now.

We will never get Curry, unless they get Wall in the draft. Maggette is way better than anything we have but for the money a bit of a risk. I want Morrow and Bell.

First of all, what the hell does he have to proof his only 20yrs old, in his second season...

In addition the reason people are so high on him, Is b/c of his 6'11 frame, and his ability to create his own shot in the post, not to mention his freakish athleticism combined with his long wingspan could make him a defensive monster....and I believe he is still raw enough to have our staff(who have show to be pretty good at developing player ala brooks, landry) and veteran players help him reach his high potential....

PS. He will be out for the next two months, but even if he was out for the season, who care's his 20 yrs old, trading for him is a move for next yr and beyond (not this yr, but if he were to come back and contribute this yr, great!!)...

...not really anyone I would want who is available from either of those teams except Randolph. Kaman plays the same position as our best player. Not wise to invest a lot of money there. Gordon is a good shooter and a bit one-dimensional. Monta Ellis is overrated, Magette is a ball chucker. Morrow is a dead eye shooter, but again one dimensional.

The only thing that tempts me is talent wise, Baron would be a great acquisition for the Rockets but I think the Clippers see Davis and Blake Griffin as their future. Davis is a bit older so maybe they would be persuaded with a Tmac's expiring + Brooks for Camby's expiring + Davis. This would allow the clip to shed some contracts and get a young PG prospect to run the pick and roll with Griffin. Houston would get a dynamic slashing scorer to set up their spot shooters who can also get Yao the ball when needed. It would also allow Houston to resign some if not all their free agents they were looking to resign this summer.

That's a strong Houston team if you ask me although your still relying on your two best players also being your two most injured players so there is that risk...

You really think that Maggette's 8.9 million is a bad contract for 20+ points on 52% and 21.8 PER? I'd take that any day - straight up. In fact I'd clean their plate from that Bobcat trade to take back Maggette and Randolph AND I'd throw in a #1.

McGrady, Cook and a #1 pick for Maggette, Randolph, Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic. That puts us under the LT tax this year, keeps the core together and I think will free up enough cash to still resign Lowry and Scola while remaining under the LT next year (it will be close).

    And...

I can't believe that you guys are acting like Kaman is a bad contract either. The fact that he is going to the All-Star game in a few days (even as a replacement) has his value as a big man is much higher than you think. 10 million for an All-Star C is not garbage. I'd take Kaman in a deal but I think they would want to unload Baron Davis instead of Camby to make salaries match. Camby - oh yea. Davis - oh no.

He also has good vision and passing skills. Can run the fast break and is a gym rat.

Just about any wing in the league taking away shots from Ariza = good thing for the Rockets. Ellis is an overrated player (but still a borderline All Star on any team) but he would be taking minutes away from one of the worst offensive wings in the entire league. His salary is a good value too.

He's a better fit than Caron Butler.

well he is young, but he is also fragile, he only played like 30 games, and he is going to miss 2 month. Not only that, there is reason why he is not playing consistent min in GS when Turiaf and Biedrins was injured. He doesnt rebound and he pretty bad at defense. With all the young talents in GS, I would go for Morrow instead of Randolph. We already have enough PF, do we really need skinny fragile center/PF who cant even play full season at that age? Morrow is SG we been looking for, look at the last game he had 33points and 11 rebounds lol he has more petential and heart than Randolph in my opinion

Although I love the idea of acquiring Anthony Randolph, that leaves a real glut at PF. Scola or Landry would have to go. I don't love that prospect. Some will argue that Randolph is a center, but, while he can give us some backup minutes there, center is not his position.
