I just found out the problem with making threads: people will misintrepret your original intent. Please read again what I said: courage to make changes and try different things, which has NOTHING to do with how the players have performed. Perhaps it is my fault that I did not make this a bit clearer, but it appears only three posters understood what I meant.
ok i had my mouth open when the saints had had their touchdown to make it 31-17 and i was with the colts.
I agree with you on the Saints POV but you're comparing a team in a Super Bowl playing against one of the better QB's in the game's history vs a marginal playoff team in the middle of an NBA season? I think RA will give Taylor, Dorsey and Budinger more playing time but we are 27-23 still in the playoff race without our 2 big guns so how unconventional do you want him to be? Courage had nothing to do with last night, it was all about a brilliant gameplan on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Unconventional works for teams like the Warriors a few years ago but as fun as that was it only got them out of the 1st rd and the Suns do it well but they create legit matchup problems all around the place with their style and type of players.
Point well taken. I would just say the 27-23 record is a bit deceiving as we have really struggled since early January. This struggle has taken us out of the playoffs and I see no change in direction until changes are made. Only time will tell, but if I am wrong about the need to make changes, and we end up making the playoffs, I will happily eat crow.
I think changes do need to come in the form of rotation. Problem is we are a deep team (even if were without superstars) and that makes it difficult to shuffle time. Give the rox cred for Saturday. It was close , we play injured and it was the 2nd night of a back to back for both of us. Oh and no tanking
If the Saints replaced Drew Brees w/ his backup this analogy would actually make some sense. And courage is overused in sports. At the end of the day pro athletes go home millionaires. It's not like they're fighting in a war or something.
