I've used some creative labs 'in the ear canal' earphones for about 2 years now and have had no problems. The quality of sound is awesome. When I'm in a really noisy place they pretty much cancel out all other sound when I'm listening to something...even when I'm not listening to something they are great at just deadening all outside noises.

Yeah, it seems like the yuins are the only real option. How would the pk3 sound without an additional headphone amplifier? I am worried the pk1s would need to be amplified.

You are right, I forgot to mention that. PK3's don't need amplification. I have them and can run them on everything I own and they work well. Definitely if going unamped the PK3 > than PK1. Even with a little diy micro amp, though, the PK1 are way better.

The PK3 are my gym earbuds for my phone or old iPod mini. You miss some of the subtleties overall but they are really solid and lively. Especially at reproducing weighty bass without hearing vibration distortion like you do in other models at that price range. And again, you can buy them from Head-Direct through Amazon and they are dirt cheap for what you get.
