While I agree with you, Brooks is no way getting in over Billups. I just want to clarify a few things for your benefit as well as others.

You can check the standings, the Rockets while not in the top 8 of the Western conference still have more wins then losses, they might have had a rough month, but that happens.

Secondly, Brooks is obviously one of the top three options on this team. He gets the ball last after Scola and Ariza because he is point, also because teams now know he is the only player on the Rockets capable of creating his own shot anywhere on the court. Still, the young man is our leading scorer along with being in the top 25 in the entire NBA for that category. In the fan vote he was just under McGrady, so it is debatable that he is worth being in the all star game this season, but obviously the more acclaimed and veteran guards will get the nod. But it isn't as if we are talking about a straight nobody like Steve Blake or something.

Possibly Time For An Aaron Brooks Allstar Berth?

With Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Roy, and Chauncey Billups all questionable to play in the Allstar game that's coming up next weekend, one has to wonder if Aaron Brooks would get his opportunity to play with the REAL big boys or if they'll continue to add everyone but him. What do you guys think? Is he the next guy to get picked for the allstar game, if not, then who do you think may get the spot. (Brandon Roy isn't playing, so we know that that spot is available)

My guess is they will add people in this order:

    Rudy Gay
    Aaron Brooks
Monta Ellis (simply because Rockets have a winning record and Warriors don't)

I doubt he'll make it... they never take the Rockets or any of our players seriously. Maybe next season when Yao is back (he'll probably resign), will raise our players' stock for the all star.

Dude, I didn't know Brooks was about to be a daddy!

I guess he is so good his future son already has an all-star BERTH saved up for him! ;)

Brooks is not consistent plus he is a no-brainer.

We can couch it under the category of pun, since a first berth would be a birth of sorts. :p

And it's much better than lots of thread titles that pop up here. ;)

At this point where I hope he's NOT gonna be picked for the available spot in the All Star weekend, just take a few days off for some r-n-r.

As some has said above, the injury bug has come and stuck, just relax and have a good rest for a couple of days and get prepped for the upcoming schedule.

Interesting quote from George Karl in today's Denver Post. I hope Brooks gets it.

thanks, didn't know there were English teachers on the Rockets fan site. It's gotta be Ellis and Brooks, i'd want him to play in it, it's not like he's gonna go all out and play for real, it's the damn allstar game where they really play around a lot and only get serious if the game is close and it's late in the game. Only bad thing is that Shaq isn't in it, he does some hilarious things when he's in the game. Maybe someone like Dwight or somebody can be the new clown at the allstar game. ;)

I'd love for Brooks to get the nod, but at the same time, I think I'd like him to get some rest, especially if Lowry is going to be out for an extended period of time.

If he got to play in the All Star Game, Brooks wouldn't need any rest. The exuberance of youth and adrenaline would carry him through the rest of the season (and he's already one of the most naturally energetic players we've ever had). I'd be all for it if he were presented the opportunity.
