It's not like Bud was blazing tonight.

He was 1-4 from 3-pt range, 1-6 overall.

You guys are talking like Ariza had his leg amputated or something. His movement was hindered THAT much.

And Ariza's hobbling didn't really affect his in-game abilities. He was moving as well (or poorly) as he usually does in games. He only showed signs of being injured when he stepped on the sidelines.

Rockets look like the old Rockets except different positions brooks is the new t-mac(guy that has to carry the scoring load to have a chance to win) and Ariza is the new Alston( the guy that hurts the team with it's shooting but still logs big minutes).

You mean the starters. The bench (ESP. with Lowry leading the way) looks like a playoff contender.

    Let me play along :p

    Brooks(-14), Ariza(-22), Hayes(-20), Battier(-20), or Scola(-12) weren't very good in the +/- department.

JCF: Trevor suffered left hip pointer at end of tonight's game. Currently questionable for Miami on Tuesday.

Brooks scored 34 points off 25 shots.

The other 4starters scored 27 of 34 shots.

Don't blame Brooks. He had 3 offensively inept players "complementing" him. With Landry being locked down defensively, he was forced to take the scoring load as well.

Ariza disrupts the flow of the offense even when healthy. Put him out there hobbling and things go downhill fast.

Its not like this is the most important game of the season or something. JT should have been given some minutes if just to make sure Ariza didnt aggravate his injury. Adelman always coaches games as if he is dead scared of letting anybody outside of his usual rotation get minutes.

As much as I dislike Ariza, the Rockets DO NOT benefit from him getting more injured.

I guess I should have put a  to show my sarcasm. I was mocking Space City's use of the +/- to determine a player's impact on a game, especially when the person who played the best (Brooks) ALSO had a large negative number.

this was worse than bud's....budinger was able to limp off the court with minimal help from his teammates...lowry only put weight on it when he had to, when he had his teammates or keith J he immediately took the weight off of it...unless it's a fluke he'll be gone longer than budinger..

That's why Dorsey played 18 minutes tonight, right?

JT hasn't really proved that he ready to play heavy minutes in an NBA game, especially not in one that is going down to the wire.

It's pretty unfair to say that Ariza didn't play well tonight. He was stellar on the defensive end and didn't chuck up (maybe 1 or 2) a lot of outside shots.

Just because he went 3-9 doesn't mean he wasn't aggressive. While he's pretty bad at finishing around the basket, his aggressiveness lately has given guys like Dorsey, Hayes, and especially Landry really easy put-backs. When you have bloodhounds like our bigs, then any sort of aggressive action usually results in an easy put-back.

And "healthy and rested" are relative terms when you're in the last few minutes of a game. Every single player should be play healthy and rested at the end of a game. If a player (especially ones as young as some of our players) can't muster up the energy to finish a game with 3 minutes left, then they shouldn't be in there at all.

Budinger in the last 3 minutes of the game would not have made a difference. Period.

He was having an off night, and the Sixers were doing a great job guarding the perimeter.

Feel free to tell us how long it took for Dorsey to get real minutes in an NBA game, not to mention how terrible Anderson had to be on defense. If Anderson had been even a little below average on defense Dorsey would have never gotten minutes.

And seriously... JT wouldnt have been playing heavy minutes. It would have just been part of the 4th quarter. If we lose we lose... which of course we did.
