This is ridiculous. Also, pretty dumb considering that they're about to face the NCAA committee for sanctioning in the next couple days.

I don't know if I've ever hopped on the bandwagon of saying "I'm sick of hearing about X," but...

I'm sick of hearing about Lane Kiffin.

Obviously Kiffin and this kid are playing around, no way in hell this story is made out to be a serious offer from Kiffin.

Well this may indeed be a non-story that is sensationalized and then misinterpreted, but either way it's so irrelevant.

The kid is 13 and loves USC just the same way as any 13 year old kid loves Kobe. Why? Because it's cool and it's current. If USC starts sucking (they don't have anywhere higher to go than the dominance they established in the early '00s and building and maintaining that level of play is nearly impossible, this kid will flip to the cool program in '15.

This is just an extension of National Signing Day, which is an absolute sham; easily the least important sporting "event" right behind the NFL Draft.

Plus Henderson's recruitment is far from over. Let's wait and see what happens at the infractions hearing.

Chris Leak did the same thing for Wake Forest when he was a kid. It doesn't mean anything.

I know theres NCAA rules stating that coaches cant talk to the players until theyre a junior or sophomore in high school...

Hell, I think the school can't even send emails about anything to this kid til he's at least in 9th grade.

    Doubt he pans out.

How exactly is the NFL draft not important? Its easily the most important of any sports draft. And its not even close.

id say a 2 round draft holds more importance than one that spans (for now) 2 days and 7 rounds. A 2nd round bust hurts a lot more than a 7th round bust.

So, what's the average job tenure of college head coaches these days? 3 years?

Good luck, kid, Laney isn't gonna be around to wipe your butt at USC...

Sorry, I should have written "least intriguing" or "least riveting." Both are important, but certainly overhyped and grossly sensationalized.

How guaranteed are these scholarships? If the kid gets paralyzed or something does he still get a full ride because they offered it? Or are there conditions on it? If its a full guarantee, it sounds like a great deal for the kid.

Obviously this is stupid but seriously Kiffin knows how to get his name and program in the media spotlight. Honestly a solid PR move in my opinion.
