Ok I finally watched John Q (with Denzel) and Phantoms (with Ben Afleck). I thought both were pretty good.

John Q is definitely better if you have kids. Just makes you think about how far you would go for your kids. I thought Denzel was very good. I also liked James Woods in the movie, he plays a great prick just like in Any Given Sunday. I also liked Ray Liotta, Robert Duvall (GREAT Actor) and Anne Heche. I would buy it.

I bought Phantoms with Reindeer Games at Wal-Mart for 14.88, pretty cheap for two movies. This movie was pretty good, a little scary and good special effects. Ben Afleck was a little hard to believe as a sheriff, but overall I liked it. I would recommend it.

Also just watched Hoffa for the 20th time and Brewster's Millions for the 100th time. Great movies. I need to buy both of these also...

Don't tell me I watch too many movies, my wife already does...

Anyone else seen John Q or Phantoms, what do you think?

Phantoms I thought was pretty slow pace. I watched the movie when it came out in theaters and was one of the very few people there. Peter O'Toole and Liev Schreiber did a pretty good job in their roles. As for John Q., havent seen it yet.

I used to hate John Wayne as a kid because my mom watched his movies over and over (she still does). Now I like them, I already know what I am getting her for XMas. John Wayne Box Set

    RM95 - why didn't you like JohnQ?

Dave2000 - Liev was very creepy, good job.

I just saw "The Contender" on rental, liked it.

Also saw "Storytelling" on rental, didn't like it too much.

Saw "Minority Report" at the theatre pretty recently, liked it quite a bit.

Saw "Novocaine" on rental, didn't like it.

Saw "Shallow Hal" on rental, liked it quite a bit.

Saw AP3 at the theatre, hated it.

There's another that I just rented, but I can't remember it right now.

    "The Contender" was pretty good.

I didn't have much hope for "Novicaine" as much as I like Steve Martin. I think Dan Carvey's new movie will be a bust, but I will probably go see it strictly out of loyalty to SNL.

Anyone seen "Hart's War"? I have heard nothing but bad stuff, but I will still watch it.

I am pretty excited about "One Hour Photo", Robin Williams looks very creepy.

I liked John Q. alot even though it got awful reviews (Don't know why tho, because it was a great movie IMHO) Denzel had an Oscar type performance.

The Bourne Identity is my movie. I don't pay to watch a movie in the theaters again, but I had to for this one.

I remembered the other movie I rented...."The Shipping News". I liked it.

Anyone else get that Lord of the Rings card from Blockbuster? Pretty amazing deal.

You buy the card for like 25 bucks. With that you get 10 free rentals (only one a week, use it or lose it), plus you get the LOTR DVD when it comes out. It almost sounds too good to be true.
