http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfc6gkb * Rockets line-up: C: Hayes/Anderson/Stoudemire (and Yao) PF: Stoudemire/Scola/Cook SF: Prince/Ariza/Taylor SG: Richardson/Budinger (and Wafer?) PG: Brooks/Lowry/Conroy => Pistons are trying to deal Prince and maybe also Hamilton because of his contract. Battier said before he would love to play for Detroit. T-Mac would be a good great fit for Detroit at SG/SF. Dorsey and Hollins complete the package. => Suns are trying to deal Amare. They would be getting Landry and Wilcox in return for the PF spot. Hamilton at SG would be nice as well for them. => Rockets get 3 'All-Star' caliber players in return. With Yao/Stoudemire/Prince/Richardson/Brooks, you would have a contender line-up next season ... Their contracts expire in 2011, so you can decide which player(s) you would like to resign and still have some room to sign FA or trade players. Hollinger's Analysis for the Rockets: -5 Wins
3 team trade Rockets get: C.Butler,B. Haywood, C.Mobleys contract Wizards get: Tracy Mcgrady Knicks get: Mike James
I honestly dont see Amarie coming to Houston at all. Plus he wants max contrat and I dont think hes even worth that
Now that the Cs are shopping Ray Allen, if no other team steps up to the plate with an offer the Rockets like, instead of holding on to McGrady and letting his contract expire, how about McGrady for Ray Allen? His contract is expiring, and the salary differential would get the Rockets under the luxury tax for this season.
Here's what I think: Go for the championship. Yao has been a great center for us.. when he's healthy. It's hard to commit to a long contract when we're uncertain if Yao will still be the centerpiece after 2011. I'm starting to come around to the Washington trade, because it might give us the chance to compete for the title next year. Caron/Haywood is thinking too small.. Butler/Jamison/Stevenson for McGrady/Scola/Budinger/Future 1st Why Washington does it: They completely clean house - they get rid of their three biggest non-expiring contracts (Arenas aside.) They get the RFA rights to one of the better PFs in the league, so they would be able to keep him past his expiring deal should they wish. They get the young asset they want in the deal in Budinger, whose had a good rookie year and shows some promise. They also don't have to give up any of their younger assets. Not to mention, they get another future 1st rounder to help in their rebuilding. Why Houston does it: They're doing the Boston-All-In-For-The-Championship move. Brooks/Lowry Caron/Jermaine/Stevenson Ariza/Shane Jamison/Landry Yao/Andersen/Hayes I didn't include this year's 1st round pick in the deal as I was hoping we could hang on to it and add another rookie to the above team. If I had this team, I would look to sign Von Wafer to plug the two hole until Jermaine shows me further development. If we were able to keep this year's pick, I would most likely take a PF/C, someone that can backup Yao and hopefully have in case Yao doesn't come back as he once was. I think that team has enough talent to win it all. Jamison is a four that can board and shoot from outside, so he would be able to stretch the floor for Yao and take over at times offensively. Caron would be our premiere wing scorer; as a good shooter, he would benefit from the kick outs from Yao. We would also be paying the luxury tax, but I think a deal of this magnitude Les would pay it. He's always said he'd be willing to pay if it made us a contender -- and I think this is one of those deals he would. Not to mention -- next year, even if it doesn't work, we would have Butler and Stevenson's contract coming off the books. We would only be on the hook for Jamison, who expires the following year. This is kind of an all-in move, sacrificng Budinger from our younger core of Brooks/Landry for the chance to win it all.
Houston to Miami: Aaron Brooks Scola Battier Brian Cook Miami to Houston: Dwyane Wade C. Arroyo Daequan Cook With the current records, it make sense to both teams.
McGrady + Dorsey for Haywood + Mike Miller + James (buyout/waive) + $3M Rockets send Haywood + Taylor for Batum + Mills + either Blake or Outlaw (trade filler/buyout) *Blake/Outlaw is bought out and re-signs with Blazers after 30 days. Rockets send Mike Miller + Batum + rights to Eliyahu for rights to Splitter + expiring trade filler HOU: rights to Splitter + Mills WAS: McGrady + Dorsey POR: Haywood + Taylor SAS: Batum + Mike Miller + rights to Eliyahu *Portland interested in Haywood but turned down Wiz offer for Feranandez AND Batum in exchange. *Batum was targeted by Spurs as their draft choice $3M + Cook to any team that can absorb his contract for a cash profit.
Houston/New York Trade Houston gets: Mobley/Hughes contracts(23 million expiring) Gallinari New York gets: McGrady(23 million expiring) Chase Budinger Joey Dorsey Jermaine Taylor --RB
Give up Chase and JT for Gallinari? And waste Tmac's contract like that? No, we'll get a better deal than that somewhere.
New York wouldn't do that. You have to take on Curry or Jeffries, and probably both to get Gallinari who they are extremely high on.
This proposed trade works with the Trade Machine. It mostly just trades equal expiring contracts, but there are some benefits for all involved. New Jersey Yi Jianlian Tony Battie Bobbie Simmons Houston TMac Chuck Hayes Joey Dorsey It would be a good trade for New Jersey because they would get 2 power forwards that are quite possibly better than their current starter. Since their season is a total loss they have a chance to give TMac all the playing time he wants so they and he can see where they are for next year. It would probably be good for this year's ticket sales in New Jersey. It's a good trade for Houston because Houston needs height. They're playing with 6 power forwards and no center. Yi and Battie can give them some height at center, and Battie and Simmons both have expiring contracts. Yi is like Yao in that he can't stay healthy, but between them you might get one good Chinaman. They'd be the Yin and Yang of the NBA. Houston would have the Chinese market cornered. Having a fellow countryman on the team could help resign Yao. For Houston, I also think of it as addition by subtraction. I don't like Hayes or Dorsey. The franchise seems to keep looking for the next Charles Barkley--undersized power forwards. To me any NBA player that can't shoot at least 80% from the free throw line does not have a good work ethic. I'm 70 years old and I still shoot 90% only shooting for about a half hour once every week or two. It's all about practice, and putting in the time.
Rockets Get: Kevin Martin Kings Get: S. Dalembert, Philly 1st round pick Philly Gets: Shane Battier, David Andersen, Hilton Armstrong ($2.8 mil expiring)
I like this one better, but it only gives us +12 http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ykuhajg best trade ever!!! http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yl2ul24
