I always thought Caron Butler was a pretty solid player on both ends of the court, but he kind of comes across as a jerk sometimes and it makes you wonder if he would fit into this locker room. Haywood has stepped his game up a little (finally) but I guess someone has to rebound and play defense on that team....
im a combination of dumb and obnoxious. I thought Butler was 30. Sue me. He signed Ariza 24 who is under 25. I thought it was common knowledge that Morey is going for a 25/under players on the fly. I knew Iggy was 26 but close enough to 25. As far as Butler, hey,it was 7 years ago during the 2002 draft that several forums I went to said he did that. So what did Butler do ? Anyone know ? Put me on ignore . I usually skim fast anyways till I reach Dadakota,Leebigez, stevierebel, crash, bimathug.
maybe this will make you feel better unless you have me on ignore from what Im gathering , I think its iggy/dalembert(lose scola and lowry) or butler/haywood/lowry/scola
Ok, but with a Vernon Maxwell you need a Hakeem The Dream to contain that potential explosion....there's no one like that on this team. There is no real "captain" so to speak. Our two captains and leaders are inactive (one injured, the other being ran out of town). So where do we go from here? I like Butler and Haywood idea, but is that the answer to the needs that the team has? I'm skeptical.....
I would like to have butler,Airza and battier on kobe in a 7 game series.playing hard noise physical D all game long. i think it would take away a lot of his energy.
Dam...that's what we need..a young beast in the paint we with Carl "Tha Hammer" Landry.. i'm seein' Clutch City blood runnin' through his vains already.......make it happen
Morey has gone on the record saying he is willing to take a player on the decline that still has more to give.
Washington is the only team looking to clear space besides NY, and to be honest it ain't McGrady there after it's Brooks
1.2 blocks in 8 MPG... not bad. I like what I see. I'm sure this has been mentioned.. but I like.. Wizards Get: Tracy McGrady ~ 23 Mil 1 year Houston Gets: Caron Butler ~ 10 Mil 2 years JaVale McGee ~ 1.5 mil 2 years Mike Miller ~ 10 mil 1 year -CB: I see leadership qualities in this guy.. He's in the prime of his career and is a viable option at the 2 & 3 position. His contract is great because it's only 2 years which means we can let him go to relieve some cap space for the FA class in two years which I hear is pretty decent as well. -JM: This guy is only 21-22 years old... Averaging 8 minutes a game, he's a legit 7 footer.. Also an excellent athlete who can run the floor. I see him as a great backup center for years to come, possibly taking over Yao's starting spot once Yao hangs his jersey in the rafters. -MM: Great shooter, spreads the floor, seems to be an excellent team player. I'm sure he'd excel with Yao on the floor... But his contract is what sold me. 10 mil expiring after this season Flexibility, talent, future. Let's get this done Morey.
That is the best trade I have seen on this board........very interesting, but would Washington go for it? DD
It'd take some doing to pry Aaron loose. Washington would have to send Foye; and a swap of those two players is nearly a wash.
Sure, DM the GM, close Wiz' eyes to the imbalance of the deal - a very good player, a good player on an expiring, and a good prospect for a guy none of us has seen at Glover's place - maybe he's looking like TMac or maybe McG? Then, DM the GM, you have to make a cut because rosters don't allow 16 guys. Trades have to work in two directions for whatever goals each team has in a prospective deal. You want Butler then you need to take Stevenson and Blatche and a balancer for $s and give back McG and probably Bud, Dorsey and maybe a draft pick. You want Gallinari (I do, anyway) then you have to take Curry. Cat balances the deal. Add Cook, maybe a rook, and a deal with a large TE. You want Iggy? Take SD. We'll throw in a prospect (Speights?) Rox throw in a prospect or two (Bud, Dorsey?). Ouch to cap and flexibility issues. Isn't it interesting that all the (presumably) identified targets play the 3 as do two Rox who get starter minutes? Hmm...
The closer you get to the deadline the bigger those long term contracts loom and the worse your bargaining position gets. DD
