New York/ Houston Trade.... McGrady, Budinger & Dorsey for Hughes/Mobley Exp. contracts & Gallinari --RB
Obama finally announces that aliens do exist and they appear above a football stadium somewhere in Florida.
I agree with you especially if Haywood comes with him. I'm not sold on giving up one of our rotation guys to make this deal though
It would hate to see Brooks, Landry, or Lowry go. I feel they are the heart of our team ever since the superstars went down.
I have been thinking about the Knicks situation. They need that big expiring K that only Tmac can give them so they can try to sign a superstar. Time is of the essence for them since there are only roughly a couple of weeks left before the trading deadline. I think they will get desperate and make us an offer that will be very interesting seeing that it appears Houston is likely to deal with Philly or Washington. As they say, we will know in the fullness of time.
rockets trade mcgrady/budunger wizards trade butler/Haywood/filler then: rockets trade: Shane battier blazers trade: rudy fernandez and finally resign Von wafer Brooks/lowry fernandez/wafer/taylor butler/ariza scola/landry Haywood/Hayes/Ming Nuff said. >:/
Shane makes about $7 mil and Rudy makes about $1 mil. No where even close on the numbers. Not a bad trade, although I hate dealing inner conference, but you need $6mil in fillers to make that deal work.
We have to assume that Yao will be back healthy next year, but also that the likelihood is that he will miss chunks of time during the year, it is the only prudent way to approach it. We were able to survive that situation for the little time that Deke was still playing, but now, we need an above-average capable backup who can hold up his end if Yao goes out for a month or so. Second, we have to transpose our current roster, and its more-grown-up players, onto LAST YEAR'S team, and then subtract McGrady from it. Where does that leave us? We need a top-shelf shooting guard, and we need a good center, maybe not all-star level, but capable. Lowry is more than capable of being a starting PG, and backups are around, in Conroy, even Bud has the handles and the IQ to spot backup at the 1, from what I have read. This means that Brooks is expendable in a trade - seriously, all we need to replace Brooks is a 20ppg SG, because Brooks' loss would impact us more in scoring than at PG, in all honesty. The question then becomes: do the Rox believe that Ariza will blossom after a full year in Adelman's system? Or does he need to be shipped and replaced? Let's assume not, since we are likely talking massive trade here, let's assume Brooks, Ariza and TMac all go in a lump. Who can that buy? Do we really want Bosh and Yao on the same team? Is there room? Let's be optimistic and say yes, but the Raps don't really have anyone else, so we are talking 3-way here. No idea if the numbers work, but maybe we end up with Bosh and Martin and someone's 1st, and ship out Ariza, Brooks and TMac. Pipe dream, sure. But then I imagine our current beautiful core of Landry, Lowry, Scola, Bud, Battier, and then add in Yao, Bosh and Martin? Yeah I could deal with that. Might be a bit thin at point, but we have been there before. I know, shoot me.
You can either start over or forever be wrong about 2-18-10. Your choice. To make it easier for you, as a early birthmas gift, I present to you the latest in technology: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine http://www.realgm.com/src_tradechecker/1/
Also, read in between these lines below: Sorry, but this trade does not work. Due to Houston and Portland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Portland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did not happen here (only Houston met the condition). This trade does not satisfy the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
