Amazing product, but almost zero market. If you can drop $100,000 on a car, saving money on gas is probably not high on your list of concerns.

i'd say it depends on their progress on the new model, and if they can keep their promised price point of 60K.

I love it, but the cost is just too high for the marketplace.

If you look at the market like a pyramid, their pricing is at the very top of the pyramid, leaving the majority of the market out of their reach.

the technology is revolutionary. The costs will drop once the battery technology can catch up. I would buy the stock.

    yeah, it's expensive....SO WERE HDTV's.

    they make an amazing car.

I predict that the car will be a hit on the West Coast, where everyone is green a two-bedroom house sells for $500k.

Tesla is based out here in the Bay Area, so you can see them on the road pretty frequently.

Oh, and $500k won't buy you much in SF. For a decent 2-BR place, think $650k-$750k.

I'm thinking it doesn't have much to do with saving money on gas.

I want a Tesla... but I doubt it'll be in my range anytime soon. Maybe I can hold on to my 02 Civic long enough to let the Tesla get in my range... not likely though.
