heard Chris Paul is out for 2 months. sad for him, bad for Hornets, good for Rockets. it'd be better if we started winning.
To win close games you have to hit your freethrows. The Rockets have sucked from the free throw line. The Suns made their freethrows, the Rockets didn't. End of story....
Mind boggling how poorly the Rockets are shooting their FTs these days...with such a narrow margin for error it is really hurting them a lot. DD
DD will be in your city of Austin the week of Feb. 9-12. Does Champions Sports Bar televise the Rockets games? I want to be able to watch the game against the Heat when I am up there.
Don't trade then I will still root for them to make the playoffs but it will be hard to get in. I just feel this team should be given a chance to make the playoffs. Time and again it is just the lack of big that can man the paint and SG that can create their shot is what is lacking. If not there is always next season.
As long as they give their best... I guess you can say that about the players, but I have a lot of question toward the coaching staff. At the end of the regulation, after a timeout followed by a forced back-court violation, you could not draw a play that will give someone a decent shot? It was not the first time either. It seemed to me that Rick Adelman let the players decide all the time in those tight situations, which often leads to a broken play. Can't you give the players a little help? Of course Ariza hit a shot that he will miss them all given four more opportunities, but it was a bad shot. This reminds me of a play a few years ago: Chris Weber hit a turn around 3-pointer to take a win from your Houston Rockets at the buzzer. It was heartbroken, but it was clearly a bad shot. Sigh. RA just got an extension.
I feel a trade coming fast. Our guys need a change, a shooter, something. They play their hearts out, but it's not enough lately.
Ariza sucks harder on FTs than Shane, .645 FT% against .771 FT%. Shane should shave his pornstache soon!
Because we have a great coaching team which believe the players will solve all their problems by themselves and let this poor FT to linger forever. JVG would have everyone shoot 1000 times FTs when it just started. JVG would have them drill 1000 times of a play to get someone a wide open shot at the end of the game. Rick Adelman believes that his player would hit their clutch shots, like Ariza did tonight, so drills of certain plays are not necessary.
It can't be just putting your foot over the paint. There is not "plane" to break through in the NBA like their is in the NFL. What if a player just lifts his foot up and puts it back down. Is that a violation. What if his toe goes over the line but then comes back? Is that a violation? I wonder what the rule is - does anyone know?
Yes. It is now or never. Either we make a trade that fills our needs and makes us true playoff contenders or we tank. Any other scenario is a lose-lose situation.
This is a developmental year for the young guys as DM reiterates. Phil Jackson doesn't call a timeout every five minute either.
