DaDakota will post this exact same thread 12 months from now, just like his "should kids keep score in soccer matches?" thread.
with this Im thinking about all those commercials of Windows 7: those people saying "Windows 7 was my idea" Im thinking DD saying: Guitar Hero was my idea
Yeah, it does, but there is a section in the demo where you go into a bar on stage and rock out for street cred.......anyway doesn't matter, I think with Brutal Legend essentially tanking in sales, and missing on the core game play, it probably kills any chance of us ever doing the game. Games cost upwards of $10 million now, and marketing and finance people are only interested in copy cat games for the most part. I remember pitching this to Activision and a marketing rep actually said..."Well, how is this like call of duty?".... When we tested the demo in marketing research it scored the highest rating for anything we had ever done, including Wing commanders, the demo or rather what you see in the videos does not do it justice, there is so much more to the game. It was essentially a Zelda like adventure in a sandbox environment with an alternative futuristic London setting....where everything was tuned to notes or riffs of music....Music was magic. DD
The iPhone was announced Jan '07 and came out in the Summer. Gizmondo was bankrupt at that time. I know the company tried to reform and do a new model but, really, you are probably just hurting yourself by thinking of that experience as a "this close" "coulda been awesomer than the iPhone!" moment. Just be content that you can apparently spend all day on the computer for a while without suffering financially and move on.
I dont think I have ever laughed so hard from something on the internet in my life. Rep is coming from me!!!
