3.extending landry, brooks, lowry, scola will keep the team the way it is plus a aging yao(extended) there will NOT be enough cap to sign anyone else

only way to add a 2-tier player like iggy or someone that can "push" us over the top, the rockets will have to trade battier for an expiring (wont do this)

not extend lowry and scola (wont do this)

not extend yao or trade him for bosh(wont do this)

not extend brooks or landry (wont do this)

so, even when battier comes off the books in 2012, by that time scola, brooks, landry, lowry, yao will all have gotten HUGE raises and will negate any cap room from losing battier and expiring tmac.

it just doesnt add up. even with the additional 8 mil or so from expiring tmac,+8 mil from battier, that 16 mil will be divided to extending and raising scola, lowry, brooks, landry, yao, etc.....

so, i fully expect this team to be WORSE next year and yr after. all these players will be older and yao will be worse based on age and injuries. keeping the "core" together is gay and a easy way to just stand pat.

personally id let them all expire and rebuild but you guys arent patient enough. so instead of having 2 really bad years and then getting another superstar, youd rather stay average and not win a thing every year

What type of question is that? Dont you think they aim for a championship every year. Its not their fault players dont want to play in Houston. Now a days guys want to be the go 2 guy but we couldnt do that cuz we had Mcgrady and Yao.

I'm sure the organization aims for a championship every year but they are going to have to want 2 spend and players are going to have to want to come here. How good of a sales pitch are they giving guys. Idk but they need to do something really good if they want that banner again.

but that average cheap talent isnt going to win a championship, plus is yao ever healthy?

iggy is a star,so is amare ,so is bosh,Iggy compliments us now and with yao,you are admitting we need a star, but fail to realize that can only be obtained through a major trade

    Kevin Martin

wrong. Martin creates space both by shooting and penetrating, and Yao posts high anyways to allow penetrators such as Martin or Iggy ,(tmac just sucked at it,past his prime)

not even close on figures or math.

1.yao wont take less, expect max at 22mil+
2.resigning scola brooks landry lowry plus yao all together is EASILY 50million

    nope try 50 million, brooks landry 10 mil each , yao 20,scola 6-10,lowry 4-6,

you wish, not without paying lux tax which Les wont do

    drugs are bad

nope, not detroit. you will have a 32-33 yr old beat up slow Yao,(probably injured) plus an aging Scola, and the rest of the team you see now, if they couldnt do it in 2008 or 2009 what makes you think with a much older yao they will do it 2011?

that's kinda my point. We need bigger stars than we can get in a mid-season trade or this off season.

iggy is not an outside threat and has many weaknesses to his game. Bosh is inside presence - we are strong with Yao-Scola-Landry there. We need perimeter help in the SF / SG area. Weak Wingmen is what will kill us.

He's risky and his numbers are very T-mac. Why not just resign T-mac because Tracey is a much better passer.

Yao isn't worth $22million. He can't get that anywhere. No one takes that kind of risk on a guy who hasn't played for a year and had a huge history of injury. Look at others who have major surgeries and injured carreers....how many ever got a max contract after their major surgeries......ZERO.

I didn't say keep Landry and Lowry. So actually by your logic my $42 million estimate is very high.

T-Mac was an awful 3 point shooter his past two seasons.... almost Ariza-like.

we werent going to win a chip with Yao kicking out to T-Mac who didn't want to score for some reason. He would rather pass for an assist.

what we need is a lethal wing scorer which is why Wafer worked so great with Yao last year.
