if u see his playoff highlights, u would change your mind and i have been a rocket fan since i heard the word basketball
Getting Iggy AND Amare would be enough, Speights would be a luxury. I don't think Bud would be the deal breaker. If necessary throw in Cook, Dorsey, even JT. If Philly gets McGrady's contract (maybe even one of the Sun's big men) and PHX gets Landry & Dalembert's expiring, should be enough. 2009 lineup: C: Amare/Hayes PF: Scola/Anderson SF: Ariza/Battier SG: Iggy/Budinger PG: Brooks/Lowry
Antawn Jamison 6-9 PF from North Carolina 21.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 1.3 apg in 38.7 minutes Caron Butler 6-7 SF from Connecticut 16.5 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 2.1 apg in 39.3 minutes Nick Young 6-6 SG from USC 7.7 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 18.0 minutes Outgoing Players Tracy McGrady 6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS) 3.2 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 1.0 apg in 7.6 minutes Luis Scola 6-9 PF from Buenos Aires (Argentina) 15.0 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 1.8 apg in 30.8 minutes
Hayes / Anderson Jamison / Landry Butler / Battier Ariza / Young AB / Lowry I like it. Imagine that with a healthy Yao.
Maybe we can do some sort of Deal for the Spurs involving Richard Jefferson and Matt Bonner. RJs contract expires in two years which is better than Iggys's long ass contract. I think the Wiz would want more than Tmac for Butler deal. And RJ is not working out very well for San Antonio but I think he'd do well in Houston with a faster paced game that we play now.
Did some 'improvements' ... Battier and Landry for Stoudemire and Richardson is too little, that why I think Taylor and/or a Rockets draft pick(s) are necessary. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ylxwesh
I think we should just make a heavy push for Rubio + Fillers for Landry+ Assets maybe get a third team involved... Hopefully looking something like this: Rockets Get: Rights to Rubio(19) Iggy (26) Dalembert(28) Young(21) Cardinal(6.7 mill expiring) Timberwolves Get: Carl Landry (26) Chase Budinger(21) Jrue Holiday(19) Sixers Get: Tracy McGrady(expiring) Brooks (25) Taylor (23) Battier (31) 2010/11 line up: Rubio/ Lowry (FA) Iggy/ Wafer (FA) Ariza/ Young Scola(FA)/ Motiejunas*/ Hayes Yao/ Dalembert/ Andersen *Draft pick FA- Free Agent Signing Rubio could be our Insurance to Yao, so in case Yao dosn't come back to what he was or he get's injured again we would have Rubio(a potential franchise player IMO) to build around... but again its just my opinion --RB
Rockets Receive Caron Butler Andray Blatche Brendan Haywood Wizards Receive TMac Luis Scola JT if necessary. Line-up Brooks/Lowry Ariza/Budinger Butler/Battier Landry/Blatche/Andersen Haywood/Hayes/(Yao) Doesn't cramp us like Iggy does. Still room for more moves.
I have a question, why is there no discussion of a possible trade with Minnesota. It's been reported that Al Jefferson is mad and doesn't want to be in Minnesota any longer, because of the losing (http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/more_sports/suitors_beware_of_amar_p5YnAECwGZbucXc6Q8pU9O/1) I didn't work on this trade very hard but just throwing something out there: Sorry I don't know how to make the trade appear as an image.
And looking at my own trade I would probably still do it if Gomes wasn't included, because Von Wafer could sign then.
I have(two post above yours)!!! just not for a 25yr old injury prone player, but instead for a 19yr old prodigy --RB
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfpn98x Lineup Without Yao PG: Brooks/Lowry SG: Wallace/Budinger/Taylor SF: Ariza/Battier PF: Jamison/Landry C: Haywood/Hayes/Anderson With Yao PG: Brooks/Lowry SG: Wallace/Budinger SF: Ariza/Battier PF: Jamison/Landry/Hayes C: Yao/Haywood/Anderson Prly not very likely but id love it!
I don't pretend to think this is realistic, but...oh well, that's why it's in this thread! http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ygxv9ae Celts get: Battier Butler Mike James Celts give: Ray Allen Marquis Daniels Why the Celts do it: they get a defender coming off the bench in Battier with veteran leadership, as well as another scorer in Butler. Though Butler/Pierce may be a little redundant, it does give them a better defensive presence, which seems like something they need. Rockets get: Haywood Iguodala LouWill Dalembert Blatche Rockets give: Battier Scola TMac Lowry Cook Hayes Why the Rockets do it: They lose their defensive presence completely: Hayes, Lowry, Battier. But what they get back in return seems to be worth the gamble. They get their SG/wing player in Iggy, a good backup PG prospect in LouWill, some size in Dalembert and Haywood, and an intriguing prospect in Blatche. Haywood expires after this year, leaving Dalembert and Blatche to man the 5 behind Yao, with Blatche able to slide to 4 to spell Landry. 76ers get: Lowry TMac Cook Daniels 76ers give: Dalembert Iguodala LouWill Why the 76ers do it: pure cap dump, as well as getting Philly son KLow. Wiz get: Ray Allen Hayes Scola Wiz give: Haywood James Butler Blatche Why the Wiz do it: pure cap dump, but they also get good lockerroom guys as well as veteran leadership. Ray Allen and Hayes are both strong leaders, good character guys, which may help in rubbing off on the Wiz youngsters. And Blatche may not be the biggest problem, but he's had run-ins with the law, which is not an image they want to project anymore. Thoughts/flames/insults welcome
