It's been crazy. But the Blazers will probably lose anyway. The Mavs have a habit of pulling out close home wins and this one looks like more of the same.
And "Old Man River" (as Mike Rice calls him) Juwan Howard give the Blazers the lead again on a lucky fall-away. 6 in a row for the Blazer.
It's amazing how different he can play without Roy. A huge amount of points with few assists does hurt though. Not his fault if the others can't make their shots.
Batum put the brakes on Dirk the last 2 minutes of OT. He was abusing them until missing his last 2-3 shots. It's always good to see the Mavs lose.
Miller's 52 was impressive, but did anyone see Batum's defense on Dirk at the end of the fourth and overtime? Wow is all I can say. He didn't bite on any fakes, kept his ground, and forced Dirk into fading even more than he usually does. And this kid is only 21. We should have kept him. (Yes, I know we picked him only to trade to Portland)
Definitely should have kept him but it was pre-arranged for the Rockets to select him for the Blazers in front of the Spurs. Batum may be the 3rd most important player on the Blazers. I'm willing to put him in front of Oden and probably Rudy. He's only played 2-3 games but he already looks like he's made a quantum leap vs. last season. Part of that may be he played with a bum shoulder half of last year.
