How can you call Dwight an average defender when he lead his team to the best Drtg in the NBA while playing along side Courtney Lee, Rashard Lewis, and Jameer/Rafer? I guess people can't accept the fact that Howard is much better than Yao.

Average post defender to clarify. And He's not better than Yao, then again you are only posting here to talk about Howard. I see your location is from Miami.

He's still better than Yao will ever be.

That's an opinion, but then again another opinion would be Kobe Bryant behind the 2nd greatest ever. Which is probably worse than thinking Yao being better than Dwight. Much worse.

Ha, like I said. Nothing is worse than thinking Kobe is better than LeBron today and thinking Kobe is the 2nd greatest of all-time.

Yes, I did I have one nickname besides this one. I didn't have 20. And that one I did have was one where I just used as rant every time the Rockets lost, I went at the referees. Not a good start to a name, so I started over a few weeks later. I don't have 20 different names like you.

Agreed, The guy is nothing but athleticism, which is the reason behind his low progress(However i do think its still very pre-mature to say his reached his ceiling)...Overall though I think he is seriously Overrated...

Dwight is light years beyond Yao this season -- it's not even close.

Dwight Howard wouldn't even be discussed as the best center in the league if he played in the early 90s.

Name one center who is better than Dwight this season.

    None.

All you haters can say he is all athleticism and nothing, no post moves etc. Fact is, Dwight will still average 20 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks shots and the best center for the next 10 years!

Dwight has regressed? I don't know but I am pretty sure Yao won't be the same player when he comes back!

31 points 19 rebounds 3 block shots against the Hawks.

Can you be a Yao fan and still like Dwight Howard? Seems like Yao fans just love to hate this guy.

Don't you get it? When Howard plays well, he deserves only qualified faint praise. When he doesn't play well, it's proof he's "awfully pathetic" and "reached his peak last season" even though he just turned 24 years-old last month. If last year wasn't his peak, heaven forbid he might be able to win a championship.

Quit trying to be reasonable and just join the party magnifying every flaw Howard has while downplaying what he does well. It must be like smoking crack because some people here seem to enjoy it so much and can't stop themselves.

The tribal ritual of chopping on other teams' star players will never go away.

Ehh Dwight is certainly an all star player. He is a very good rebounder (elite in fact), granted his rebounds are inflated on that team. He is VERY athletic and can get some high percentage shots.... but he is not a real super star... he has ZERO post moves, struggles to pass well, and honestly is not a good defender.

He and Yao are the best of a very mediocre group. Put him in the previous generation and he would be forgotten.
