Mcgrady isn't going anywhere. If this was true I'm sure morey would have already pulled the trigger. My thing is why trade for a wing player? Ariza Battier And Budiger would still be here and they will have a log jam at the position. IMHO one would have to be packaged in a deal with Mcgrady

first, I do have good Bud but only for special occasions

Second, Lowry has proven he can be a starting PG on a lot of teams and one of the if not the BEST Backup PG's in the league(find me another).

Third, Chase is a rookie. When AB was drafted he didn't contribute as much as what Chase is in his rookie season.

Alot of posters are so excited about AI, but in reality I can't see how it is anywhere near possible for him to come to the Rockets. Especially, since the Rockets aren't interested in taking on Elton Brand's salary (very few teams are). Which is probably the main reason the Sixers are considering any trades from the surface level. Dalembert's contract is not as nearly as troublesome as Brand, since it expires next summer and he is an adequate center.

It's very possible that the Sixers could get more pieces than what we are offering on the table (unless we start to throw some of our core players in the deal), especially for AI. Also, what is the incentive for the 76ers to deal AI, while they are probably able to get rid of Brand without giving up other (essential) pieces.

I feel it is a long shot deal for us.

    Sixers' GM: No untouchables

    By Kevin Tatum

    Inquirer Staff Writer

When Ed Stefanski was asked yesterday about reports that have swingman Andre Iguodala involved in possible trades, the 76ers president and general manager did not rule out anything.

"I won't talk about trades or rumors," said Stefanski, who formerly was the general manager of the New Jersey Nets. "I will say that we're very active in talking to teams throughout the league, and we're listening to any option to improve the basketball team. When I was in Jersey, and here, I don't think there are untouchables.

"Anyone can get traded in this league, and we've seen it over and over. But we don't trade a player unless we get value back, basketball-wise."

Iguodala, who turned 26 yesterday, has been linked to a deal that would bring Tracy McGrady and his expiring $23 million contract to Philadelphia. More recently, ESPN.com. reported that the Sixers and the Cleveland Cavaliers were talking about Iguodala.

After the Sixers practiced yesterday at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Iguodala didn't appear to be fazed by the situation.

"You get asked about it by family and friends," he said. 'What's going on?' 'What can happen?' There are a lot of different scenarios that can come up, and 95 percent of them are just rumors. I think the most important thing is, wherever you are at that moment in time, you'd better give 100 percent of your time and focus on the job you have."

Iguodala, who first was asked about the trade rumors Wednesday before the Sixers dropped a 91-88 decision to the Bucks in Milwaukee, said then that the team's lackluster performance made everybody vulnerable to changes.

The Sixers (15-30), who host Kobe Bryant and the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers tonight, came out on the losing end against Milwaukee after Iguodala missed a three-point attempt at the buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime.

The way the Sixers went down in that game was all too familiar.

"There have been so many games that we've been right there and so many different ways that we haven't been able to get a victory," Stefanski said. "With the record we have now, obviously, you have to listen to everything. We're all accountable - the coaching staff, the players, myself. The team we have here we believe has talent. We are at times underachieving. We have to get that together."

Clearly, coach Eddie Jordan is feeling accountable. He was asked how he has been sleeping lately.

"I don't sleep at night," Jordan said to laughter. "My wife asked me this morning, 'Where did you sleep when you came home?' Well, I said 'Pretty much on the floor in the family room watching the game again.' It's hard to sleep. But after years in the league, you get used to it. A power nap here and a power nap there. It's hard on you."

Jordan and his team have a lot on their plate tonight, facing the Lakers (35-11) while trying to prevent a three-game losing streak.

The Lakers, who are coming off road wins against Washington and Indiana, will be playing the sixth game on a seven-game trip. They are 3-2 with a win over New York sandwiched by losses to Cleveland and Toronto. They end their trip Sunday at Boston.

Tell me how Lowry will ever crack the starting lineup with Brooks in front of him? Lowry doesnt have the jumper to replace him.

    Budinger doesn't have the D

Why all the talk about Brand? Isn't the deal supposed to be Iggy and Dalembert?

They could more pieces than what we are offering *IF* other teams are willing to take on salary. I've read on ESPN that Cleveland, Dallas, and Houston are the only teams willing to take on money

Who is taking Brand? This is the first time that I heard another team is targeting him. I doubt it.

Why? What incentive would Morey have to do that? He's said multiple times that teams aren't giving their real offer right now, and it won't be until the deadline that something gets done. Sounds like he's holding out for more and teams are currently low-balling him. The articles posted have said the 76ers would need to overwhelm the Rockets with young talent if they were going to take back Dalembert or Brand. Maybe Morey's holding out for a third piece to be added onto the deal? (Speights, Young, Lou)

All three of those players you listed are SFs. You could make a case for Budinger as a SG, but I think he's better suited at SF. Meaning.. we still need a SG. I don't think adding Iggy poses any logjam.. you would have Iggy/Budinger -- Ariza/Battier.. no real need to add any of them to the trade for 'logjam' purposes. The only thing you might consider is both Ariza/Battier being similar in their limitations, and maybe flipping one of them for more offense.

Very FEW teams are taking on salary. The Sixers like all other NBA teams are posturing until the last minute to try and get the best deal.

Your comment reminds me of 2008.

On June 29th: If Morey was going to trade the Greene pick, he would have done it by now. Rockets will not any veteran help.

On July 29th: Morey trades Greene for Ron Artest.

No one will take Iggy and Brand because they both have long contracts. So that should be Philly's initial offer...to see if they can get someone to bite. Then they would lower the asking price to Iggy & Dalembert

I think DM really wants Jrue Holiday so we can move AB to sg.

DM is playing the game the way it should be played (waiting it out until the asking price becomes reasonable). Philly, as with any other team, is asking for the stars right now. As the deadline gets close and teams fall out of contention, the ability to rid themselves of money for an expiring contract will be very attractive.

even though iggy can pass he sucks. whaaaaat? thats right you heard me. whens the last time you looked at a box score and saw andre with 30 points? ive never seen it.but he gets paid an albatross amount in the coming years for a passive average shooting player

he is undersized for the sf, so he is strictly a sg. he is losing his vertical also. 4 years ago he was freaky but not anymore.

he is just way to passive, meanwhile Kevin martin dropped 50 in a game last year or the yr before. yeah he is injury prone, but its real injuries, not whinny baby finger stuff like tmac

    NO TO THE DEAL

i know whats happening, Morey and Les are seeing the losses pile up and are worried about playoffs and future.

1.playoffs are irrelevent this year, no yao=no playoff run
2.future =iggys contract will hostage us for 4 years plus we are already stuck with ariza for 4 more

if this trade goes through, welcome to 4 yrs of misery

of course, you probably want a alternative suggestion. Id do either kevinmartin/nocioni or try to lure nate robinson or hill from NY with tmac, then If i get nate id trade brooks for ricky rubio (hahahahaha, yeah i know you dont like it but so what,if morey can offer brooks for rubio so can i)
