What a gip. Because Landry is such a great 6th man, it looks like he isn't even getting consideration for MIP.

Really, his case for MIP is much better, but what will probably happen is he gets neither.

I think our awful schedule is actually what is going to put Rick Adelman in serious contention for COY. We lost both of our star players, have two NBA rookies getting some relatively serious playtime because we have to have them, THE toughest schedule in the NBA - we weren't worthy for any nationalized television...but look at us. Look at us - one game away from Fourth Seed!! And we haven't really played many of the Eastern Conference teams, many of whom I think are much weaker than the Rockets. Who knows where we'll end up when all is said and done?

I also say we're one of the most watchable teams out there and I'm only partly being homeristic when I say that.

In a weird sort of way, I almost hate for us to get the national recognition that our coaching staff and players deserve. Partly because I'm afraid it will ruin us (egos) and partly because - well, I guess I just plain old don't want to share.

They're OUR guys, and I could care less if some kids in Chicago, LA, NY or where ever become Houston fans. I was a fan before they accomplished what they have this season, and I will remain one whether or not Landry gets 6th man, Brooks gets Most Improved or Adelman gets COY. Part of me feels like we don't need fair weather fans - don't tell the Rockets marketing/sales department I said that, as I'm sure they feel quite differently.

Guess I just like rooting for the underdogs?

I have to admit though...it would be nice - really nice - to see Charles Barkley have to announce things like "Rockets have managed to pull off far more than I ever expected them too this season" and he HAS to do it because of the multiple awards our team has garnered.

Of course, it would be even better if we made it to the second round of the playoffs again this year, but I'm probably delirious now. Must be all the eggnog.

I release you now to return to your regularly scheduled programming....

COTY is a joke already but it will be even more of a joke if adelman doesn't get it.

Rick better win that COY award. He deserves that award for the longest time. He should have gotten that award during that historic 22 game win streak. But for some reason Coach Brown got the award just because he had Lebron James.

Hopefully he win the award. The Rockets need some recognition around the NBA. Coach Mike Brown gets more recognition than Rick and everyone else. I was furious that one year when Coach Mike Brown won it because it shows you how the NBA are nowadays. The NBA are slowly becoming like the WWE. Its like they want the Cavs to win it all.

I won't be surprise of Lebron winning the MVP, West for Most Improved. Anderson Verajao for Sixth man, and Coach Mike Brown for Coach of the year...

I bet anything that the media thinks that Coach Mike Brown is better than Rick. If you put Mike Brown on this team right now, our wins would be cut in half or even more.

The top coaches in the NBA right now are Rick Adelman, Phil Jackson, and Greg Pops.

You know why he is third? Is because no one watches the Rockets game. They all focused their time on Lebron James mostly. Then if Lebron not playing, they would watch the Lakers or any other team with exciting athletic teams with big names. Other then that, no one really watch the Rockets, except for checking the box score every now and then.

    Adelman doesn't deserve it IMO.

personally,I think landry improved more than AB,and got great chance to win the 6th man, congratulations carl.

hoping this guy could put more numbers during the following half season, and develop into top PF in the league,u r definitely my favorite player.

rick adelman great chance to win coach of the season if we can make the playoff ,even pass the 1 round in the playoff if we r luck enough.

great job for all rox players and the organization.

I wonder if all of this excessive hype will get to Brooks' head and affect his game.

Whether you like Brooks for this team or not, that wouldn't be a good thing.

If you like Brooks, you want him to play well for the Rockets.

If you don't like Brooks, you want him to play well to boost his trade value.

Let's hope that he keeps things in perspective or the vets do it for him. I don't think it'll be a problem.

Right now I agree with Brooks as MIP but I'm glad Landry is 2nd, at least a Rocket will get some recognition.

The sixth man is really close though I'd give Crawford the edge right now because he's made the Hawks win some close ballgames and he's really important to their great record. Landry is good for us but right now not showing he can take over in the 4th but still important.

It's funny how Artest is all of a sudden high in the DPOY award, 2nd, while with us he barely made the top 5.

RA should've won the Coach of the Year either last year or the year before. There's no way a coach doesn't get it when his mediocre team win 22 in a row or a team with stars in and out, chemistry problems and injuries win over 50 games (last year). This year I would like to see Scott Brooks taking it, because the Thunder shouldn't be this good. Their 5th in defensive and on paper you wonder how they do it. The Grizzlies coach maybe deserves it too with their great turnaround but Adelman right now doesn't deserve it. Let's see in a few weeks.

Even if we end up with the 4th or 5th seed, RA won't win the award. The general trend is for the coaches with the highest record to win it. Fair or not, that's how it is.

You're probably right and that is why the award is a joke. A team with stars should be doing good and the job of the coach is to not f-- it up. Its a different matter when the coach has no stars but makes the team competitive.

COY has to go to Memphis. Adelman doesn't deserve to win anything after the McGrady fiasco and horrible usage of Trevor Ariza.
