Yeah... I'm such an Apple fanboy... Before September... I didn't even have a Mac... I had an iPhone... for the sole purpose of having a phone and having my music... fell in love with it... so I upgraded every year after with each new model. I'm not an Apple fanboy, but you're an Apple hater, anyone here can clearly see it.
Shouldn't you be over at engadget? I don't hate Apple. They've produced some good products. What I hate is Apple fanboy like yourself. So try to know the difference.
No... I don't follow tech as much as I used to anymore. And Yes you do hate apple... or at least you like to troll in Apple threads... you've had a rich history of doing so.
I video edit for the U of A. I use a PC. Without getting into the whole PC/Mac debacle I think PC is a better route for video editing. PC's have such a degree of customization that tailoring a PC just for video editing is not only a good idea it's affordable. Constructing a system with a gig of video memory and 8 gigs of ram is not as expensive in PC as it would be in Mac (that's not even taking into account GDDR memory, DDR2 speeds and even processor benchmarks). I love adobe premiere and I feel like Final Cut is the mac equivalent of Windows Movie Maker. Ok, that's a bit harsh but final cut is for babies. Most of my mac video editing friends can't explain to you what VBR is, how to merge HD and non HD footage, or even how to export movies to AVI instead of MOV. I'm not saying all mac users are tools, just my mac friends. Pick what you're comfortable with and never look back.
Not true at all! That is so false. Star Wars: made exclusively on a PC. Avid: the premiere video editing software is now exclusively PC. The whole notion that mac is for media is false, it's old fuddy duddies who don't know how to get with the times.
You one arrogant fanboy aren't you? I remembered you thinking you know everything about Apple and being arrogant about it. Couldn't stand it when I was trying to put some sense into you?
This. Final Cut is awesome, simple to use, I use this most of the time because I find the workflow very efficient. However, when I start getting into more complicated things like motion graphics and I find my self needing After effects, than Premiere on the PC is the way to go for me. Both systems have their flaws and perks.
No... i'm sure it wasn't that.. it was the fact that you kept coming into those Apple threads and talking ****.... which is defined as a troll... Get a life man.
Good stuff, Pizza, Rocketeer... I use a PC. It's not that it's "better than a MAC" or that it's "easier to use", it's just that all my life I've learned how to troubleshoot software, write web stuff, scripts, etc., on a PC. Now I don't have as powerful a PC machine with Vista and 2 GB of RAM and it might take my 1-hour video rendering about 3 hours, but it does what it needs to do. I just let it do it overnight. I don't care if it takes a long time, it is a great quality video and looks as smooth as it would on a MAC. I learned Vegas Video and tried a bunch other programs but Vegas made it easy for me to learn. Adobe Premiere is OK, but I don't know it as well as Sony Vegas on my PC. I am comfortable enough now to make a quick edit and render something fast on my PC. I don't think switching to a MAC just to do video would be good... for me it would be a bad idea. I mean, if I am used to all the keystrokes and all the software and all that on a PC, why switch? Like Pizza said, go with what you're comfortable.
Half of your post are moronic ramblings about how much Apple sucks... without any solid proof except your opinion. So, I don't know where you get the term schooled...
Where did I say the world world is using a mac? Get over yourself. You aren't smarter than everyone else on the board. You can't make up extreme **** and claim I said it and then prove that wrong. I said that macs are far and away better for video editing and I told whoever it was that they were an idiot if they thought companies spent thousands of dollars getting macs because they are cool. That's great that animators use PCs. Fantastic. In the next [Animation] Mac or PC? Thread be sure to include that because it sure isn't relevant in this thread.
Here at my home recording studio I record Rap, R&B, Worship songs...... It is for one vocalist only, Qubase works wonders on a mac... From past experience on record labels in my opinion is the closest you will get to a professional recording, if one has the right mic and equipment ofcourse. For now I run Ableton Live on Vista and I have accomplished some professional results.... If anyone wants a sample let me know, ill upload a file.....
this whole only macs can do video/photo idea is such BS. there's no need to spend 2500 dollars on a mac pro. hardware wise both are the same. and there's good software for BOTH depending on ur preference.
For all of you (and the millions of others out there) that use Final Cut Pro, where do you get the software from? I really want this software, but it's $800! Would you say >90% of download FCP from torrents, etc.? Are there any legit ways to get it cheaper? Or at least are the instruction manuals sold separately?
I've been using the same Desktop PC and HP laptop for the last 6 years and they run like the day I brought them home... The warranty is 3 years, what makes you think it would break in 1?
