According to ESPN, Jud Buechler was waived Wednesday by the Magic in a salary cap move. The Rockets could sign Buechler to the league minimum, and he would still be getting paid a large salary from Orlando. Jud is a fan favorite wherever he plays, and he is a great long-range shooter (2nd in the league in 3P% in 2000-01). Also, he would not complain about only getting limited PT behind Cuttino and Steve.

    What do you guys think?

Having seen Buechler play in Orlando for the better part of a half season, I must provide this one insight:

    No.

The Rockets want no part of him. He cannot do anything well, even shoot - his supposed strength. He is a liability when on the court for more than the occasional end-of-quarter outside shot.

There are a lot better, younger, cheaper players out there who can provide everything Jud can and more.

I don't mean this as a knock against Jud but I think we could pick up a player that could help us more out of the NBDL or off our summer league roster.

Jud Buechler???...... lol. I think we'd be a lot better off without him.

We do need a character guy. Someone that hustles for the ball. Someone that dives into the stands. We need an Anti-Cato. I don't know about Jud but we could definitely use a character guy.

Moochie hustles every single night. What we need is some scoring off the bench.

    I am going to vomit.

I have heard that Buechler is a damn good sand volleyball player though.

One of the best possibilities at this stage is to play Rice at the 2 spot also. That seems to be one of the ways we handle the logjam at 3, 4 and 5.

WHAT? Rice can't play defense on two's better than Moochie. We should keep Oscar if we can't get anyone else. What about Bowen or another FA? Buckner got signed to a 3yr 18 mil deal. Could we afford something similar for Bowen?

Jud Buechler? I'd take Langhi over him anyday. I didn't think Langhi was that bad, he had a couple of good games. The Rockets never gave him much of a chance, they let Collier play a lot more than he did. Hell, if ya'll are talking about signing Buechler, might as well sign Langhi, he's younger and more athletic.

If you really want an anti-cato, a real hustle guy, a guy thats gonna dive for loose balls, it's Mouton. Period.

Jud Buechler would have been a good choice for us some 10 years ago,but he can't help us out anymore.
