Couple tweets from Marc Stein about it: @STEIN_LINE_HQ Hornets still need one more trade to get under tax threshold. Tax benefit of swapping Devin Brown for Gray is only savings of roughly $100K @STEIN_LINE_HQ Hornets still roughly $425,000 over tax line. Getting under gets you nearly $5 million. All non-tax teams collect such a check in the summer
Just curious, why did he make that face? Was it the loss or was there a key play that made it that much worse?
He's the guy who randomly fell down, lost the ball, which was picked up by Tmac, who took it down the court, and then scored the game winning 3 to cap off a personal 13 point run in 35 seconds to bring the rockets back from being down 10 with 50 seconds to go. If that's not worthy of making such a face, I don't know what is .
Here's the video for you too <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nfurCV1FDpM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nfurCV1FDpM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
omg that face on brown is classic lol. anyway, new orleans HELLO??? their trading DEVIN BROWN for a guy who barely plays in AARON GRAY!! wow most dumb trade other than kobe for divac
It'd make more sense if it got them out of the luxury tax, but right now they're still in it. I don't get it. Unless they really need a back-up big...
Not sure if NO is going to keep Gray but if they do, sorta makes sense. They recently traded Hilton Armstrong.
Watching that video - man. McGrady was really amazing in that 33 seconds. However, I forgot that he had had an off night before those 33 seconds. He finished the game 12-29. Regardless, I'll always miss the McGrady of those 33 seconds.
People seem to forget about this when they are bashing T-Mac! He did A LOT of good for this team, the guys that bash him all the time need to learn how to appreciate what he did for us! ALWAYS A T-MAC FAN!!!!
The popovich stare at him was equally priceless. It was like he was telling him to not to even think about getting on the bus for the ride home.
That stare was epic. The greatest part about that achievement by T-Mac was, besides that last play, the Spurs did not really choke. They made most of their free throws, and they played great defense.
