Sometimes when I get bored at work, I like to play with the ESPN Trade Machine. Most of these are unrealistic, but I'd like to think that each team would at least contemplate doing these deals.
Very nice trade. I know that Dalembert is overpaid but i yearn for a shotblocking center back in Houston. adding bosh, iggy and martin would make this team VERY interesting. If Morey did do this we would be top 3 in the Western conference next year, and this year might even be able to ruffle some feathers in the playoffs.
I am intrigued by Amare. I think Bosh is slightly better, but I would take Amare and probably give him close to a max extension. Shed a bit of caproom for next year as well. Deal McGrady+Battier+1st Rounder(unconditional) for next year for Amare and Leandro Barbosa. The suns get a veteran leader and defensive presence and a wild card in McGrady. They probably will get a more lucrative offer but they also stay a contender with trade and and a pick that would still probably be 15-20. Barbosa is probably a better perimeter option than everyone on our team sans AB anyway. Barbosa is a little expensive but not that badly. Barbosa is like Brooks in that he can play both positions. Start Lowry and Brooks and use Barbosa off the bench. I do believe between Ariza/Lowry they can effectively guard the starting 2s and 3s on a night to night basis. Start Hayes and Amare together and you are probably improved on both sides of the ball compared to Scola/Hayes. Then Scola is your backup center and Landry the power forward (DA being the 5 guy) Scola is way better defensively that Andersen, and we become very very deep.
Successful Trade Scenario Congratulations on a successful trade. Due to Houston, Phoenix, and New Jersey being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston, Phoenix, and New Jersey had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Trade one: Rockets trade Scola Battier Blazers trade: Blake Webster Fernandez Trade Two: Rockets trade TMAC Brooks pick Suns Trade: Amare after he agrees to sign extension
Feedback: Overpaying in both trades. I love the idea of getting Fernandez though. But with all their injuries I don't think they are giving anyone up anytime soon.
