Yeah, we could do better. But the chance of Swift being there at 3 are very slim. He will get taken by the Grizz at pick 2 probably, or maybe even pick 1 by the Nets. Most likely we'd have to take either Miles or Fizer. And by the way, your package has us giving too much. If the Clips would consider Knight+pick 8, then I think that Drew+either Walt or KT would be more than enough. Not both.

We also have 2 future picks at our disposal via Detroit and Orlando to sweeten the pot.

I was thinking and saw the exact same thing. Brevin Knight also happens to have signed a 20 million dollar contract prior to this season.

The chances of Swift being on the board are slim, but not impossible-if NJ decides to go ahead and draft Mihm, that's one way as I doubt VAN would pass on KMart. Or, if VAN has been bluffing all along and really has wanted Mihm or Fizer(really doubtful scenario).

    Who knows what could happen?

I'd also move up to #3 if the cost was #9/KT/Drew, to go ahead and grab Miles if Swift/KMart were gone. We'd have an empty PF spot, but that could be filled at 38 with Magloire, Madsen, and Smith, or via trade/free agency (Croshere would look nice, as well as Fortson, Kurt Thomas, Mason, Foyle, Mikki Moore, Jahidi White and McCoy) or we still have a chance of getting the Detroit pick (#14, which would easily give us Etan Thomas).

Miles wouldn't start, but would come off the bench to mature, and get better....The market for a PF is a lot easier than the one for a center.

Also note-I'm not sure how credible it is.....personally, the Clips GM would have to be insane ESPECIALLY if Stromile was on the board. Would you pass up a front line of Odom-Swift-Kandi so you could get Odom-Moiso-Kandi instead. Swift makes up for Kandi's shotblocking (not bad, but not top tier) and quite possibly, in 2 years would be the best forward tandem in the league.

Why exactly would the Cavs do it? Moving Shawn Kemp won't exactly be an easy task.

    I agree with Nike.

    especially about -

But once you get him in motion, its hard to get him to stop. Newton's second Law I think.

If this is true, can I be a clippers GM too? I could do no worse.

I agree with Nike, I'd make the deal of KT, Drew and 9th for the 3rd. Somehow I cant see the Clips doing it, and I dont buy the Brevin Knight and 8th rumor either. To get Darius Miles, I would have no problem parting with KT and Drew. However, I think Cato and 9th pick for Darius Miles is way too pricey.

Latest rumor has Cleveland offering this to the Clippers IF Stromile Swift is still on the board. If he isn't drafted yet, the Rocekts would also want to move up.

We can offer a better deal to the Clips. At the #9 they are still assured of Moiso and we could give them Drew, Walt, and KT.

There are a number of possibilities. Just wanted to point out that deals like this are possible as similar, if not worse, deals are being shopped around by actual NBA Gm's.
