arghh this does nada for me since I don't have cable for the moment. They put this game on 3 different cable channels, why couldn't they just put one on my20?
They're the Chicago Bulls TV analysts... they don't belong to WGN. Chicago doesn't have a local channel like the Rockets do, so they have WGN which is national so their FSN or Comcast (dk which one) commentators move to WGN whenever the Bulls are on WGN.
I like 'em too and listened to 90% of tonight's game as opposed to Bill and Bull. Stacey King was murdering Ariza near the end. Brutal, but so true.
Really? I'm a Bulls fan and most Bulls fans hate Neil Funk and Stacey King (Neil Funk especially). Both of them are always criticizing the opposing team for things that the Bulls do as well. If Aaron Brooks puts up a bad shot they'll go "That's a terrible shot" and they'll make fun of him. Meanwhile the Bulls will head down the court and John Salmons will chuck up a worse shot and they won't say a thing. They're brutal.
This is what I noticed too. It wasn't just homerism either. It got to the point that I was wondering if they had something personal against Houston. At one point, they showed a poll for Favorite Texan Team, and the results were something like Spurs 35%, Dallas 34% and Houston 31%. The announcers talked about it as if the Spurs and Mavs were clear favorites with Houston far, far behind. A little later, one announcer spent several minutes whining about some black-and-white monitor they were given to use for the game, adding in absolute seriousness "This is why people like Dallas and San Antonio more than Houston." He didn't even try to mask his contempt.
Yeah I heard that too but the other guy said that was uncalled for though. Still he kept on going about the black and white monitor.
I agree with most Bulls fans then.....especially about Funk...I thought he was horrible.....but still better than Drexler
Seriously, why do people hate Houston so much? Scola and Lowry flop at times, but I don't think that's the reason. I can understand liking SA because they are proven champs and play the game the right way for the most part, but Dallas?? They're just douchy beyond belief.
Obviously this hate goes back to the 90s when another team actually won a championship besides the Bulls
I don't think it was actually anything personal against Houston. It was more like the announcer was using anything and everything he could to criticize the opposing team. It was funny, in a way.
Also, some people hate competition. They look at our roster and think it's nothing but a bunch of scrubs. It turns out the Rockets are a hard working team with talent spread around evenly. You can't pick one or two players to focus on, because that's setting up a 30 point night for someone else. When their team struggles, they get upset and start hating on the Rockets. They realize this team has something our team is missing.

But I know a lot of people who say they HATE the Rockets. I'm just curious as to why that is. Of course I'm biased, but I don't see the rationale behind it.
Did anyone else catch when the WGN announcers were knocking the Toyota Center's telestrators for about 5 minutes for being so technologically out of date? Haha they were definately being homers and knocking us hardcore. The poll that was pretty much split 1/3 for each city, and them saying "No one cares about Houston", calling EVERY moving screen call against the Bulls a flop on Lowry even when they showed the replay Gibson clearly was hitting Lowry square in the back, and yes, they were pretty much ripping Trevor a new one. Living in Lubbock for the past couple of years where we get only Mavs games, I've EVERY team's announcers are extreme homers, even ours. Opposing teams announcers are just more annoying haha. And Haha to whoever said this thread wasn't necessary to start only to be refuted by many people thanking the OP for posting this otherwise they would have missed the games. I think its hilarious when I open a thread and the 2nd post is always someone saying "it was not necessary to start",even though it was and some people just like going on power trips
