Kevin Martin is in play. I think the Kings WILL send him out. I LOVE his contract and his scoring.

    A Morey player for sure.

With Martin in town you might just as well change the Toyota Center into a Hospital.

I like K-Mart for this team, but I am seriously concerned with his health. Hopefully he doesnt have a Michael Redd career.

Is Amare on the trade block? He won't stay with what we are willing to pay. We know giving him max or close to max will cripple us and already we are a lower end playoff team with him. It will be hard to improve upon that. Ticket sales are down significantly this year too. I would say I'm about 70 percent we trade Amare this year. 55% before the deadline. The deadline trade scenario though is highly impact with the next games we play before the deadline. http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=979218

You can only do the 1st ones together or the 2nd ones together.

Houston: Large expiring contract with Bosh.
    1st: Ellis, Bosh, Biedrins
    OR
2nd: Bosh, Shaq, Nestrovic <---- lolz

Toronto: They'd get a good deal and possibly Martin to go with Ellis later.
    1st: Maggette, Curry, Ariza
    OR
    2nd: Ellis, Ariza

Golden State: They pull the plug and aquire all expiring contracts and possibly Llull too.
    1st: McGrady, Scola, Hayes
    OR
    2nd: McGrady, Scola, Hayes

Cleveland: They replace Shaq with Biedrins and bring in another scoring wing with Maggette and Curry who will replace the injured Williams and West.
    2nd: Curry, Biedrins, Maggette

I know it's hard to invision Shaq on this team, but with his huge salary coming off the books you'd have a shot at Rudy Gay or you can play it safe and just extend Bosh. You'd not lose much just Scola, Ariza, Hayes and of course McGrady, but you would have Bosh and cap space in the end.

Maybe Llull or even our 1st round could be involved.

    Which do you do?

I say play it safe and do #2 scenario.

What if Shaq comes off the books and then both Yao and Bosh opt out. Does Yao ink for less to bring in Wade and resign Bosh?

i was messing with trade machine and came up with this.
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

Philly gets- Tmac, Ariza, and Scola

Why for Philly- Get a consistent low post scorer in scloa; go after free agents in the summer with mcgrady's contract coming off the books; get a pretty young defensive player in ariza. will be good fit cause he won't be first option. lou williams will be a good pg soon. and if they get a good fa they will be pretty good.

Houston gets - Andre Igoudala, Samel Dalambert, and Thadues Young.

Why for Houston - We get a scorer in andre (consistent). Back up center for yao. And can start landry finally. We will get a young prospect in thadeus. I think this will work out good in the future. good sg who can score, great c in yao, pf landry , brooks, defensive wing battier.

After being away from the garm for so long, I have gone through all the pages on this thread. It is pretty clear that most of people here would trade TA given a chance for Andre Iguadala. As any debate, there is always cons and pros of any deal to move TA for AI. With TA gone you will be losing an athletic 2/3 wing who occasionally can hit a spot up 3 ball here and there as well as a tenacious defender with long arms. I may be in monority here, but I do believe Ariza gave Kobe more problems in the games we play Lakers this year far more than Battier. I know sometimes it has been a growing pain watching Ariza trying to create, but it is not as bad as many people here seems to suggest. On the other end Iguadala is very intriguing player full of athletism. I work in Philly, I can tell you how frustrating the fans in Philly feel about Andre Iguadala. If you are Sportscenter fan offcourse you will be thrilled with Iguadala, but his overall game IS NOT to the level a lot of people here assume to believe to be. His shot selection is horrible not necessarily a volume shooter though. Defensively he's not remotely close to Ariza. I know stats guru will go to the numbers to prove me wrong, but I wil tell you Iguadala won't make this team better. PASS ON HIM

It just baffles me how Morey would deal an asset in Artest straight up for somebody that is so fundamentally flawed. I don't care what role he's in, Ariza just flat out sucks. I have been very patient with him, but I've had it. This is just ridiculous.

Morey simply made the Lakers even more dangerous with that move. That's worrisome.

Then he decides that David Anderson is the best fit as backup to the undersized and offensively challenged Chuck Hayes at Center. Umm, hello?? Anderson is decent, but we need a presence at C. When considering that neither Scola or Landry are assets defensively down low, Morey's priority should have been acquiring a lenghty center who can play D and block shots. it's not like Anderson makes up for anything with his offense.

If you did your homework, you would know your post makes zero sense. Start from the begining and work you way down.

yeah I always though 'trading' Artest for TA was bad.......

Anyways, who do you suggest getting for center and please dont come up with some bullcrap trade scenario that looks good to you and that you think looks good to the other team. Also anything you or anyone else can think of, I am pretty sure Morey thought of and more.

Oh, all you TA haters, just show why DM and RA are running things.

DM traded Artest for a seriously flawed player who has been exposed in Houston.

DM decides that acquiring a marginally effective offensive player in Anderson was more valuable to the team than acquiring somebody that can play defense and be a force inside. This knowing that we only had one player on the roster who can play defense inside.

And if Trevor Ariza is the absolute best DM could land for Artest, then the deal with Sacramento to acquire Ron Ron was a complete failure.

yes i did, and i cant seem to find where that post went :s
but anyway, this seems to be the most logical and reasonable, trade we could do at this stage.
