6th seed or better...I put it where my mouth is!

Last night during an otherwise pleasant conversation I got into a rather heated argument with a friend/Mavs fan. He bragged about potential as I nailed him with the truthes of championships past. We went at it! Nowitski- Griffin, Nash-Francis, Reed-Aguirre...

...in the end I made a 3 digit impulse wager that the Rox would be the 6th seed or better. This I truly believe, but would you have done it?

Brotherman, I think that is a somewhat risky bet just because you know that the top 4 seeds are pretty much locked in with LA, Sacramento, San Antonio, & Dallas. The battle for 5th & 6th between Portland who most likely will get one of those two spots, Minnesota, Seattle, Clippers... As long as the Timberwolves can't find depth at the guard position, you have a good shot at winning.

PS: Thanks for that scoop yesterday. If you make that happen then your chances of winning the bet are greatly improved.

Probably not. I'm not the betting type, and if I did bet, I wouldn't put so much into the bet. But if we get Lewis, 6th is a good prediction. It would be nice to shut him up too. If he thinks Dallas has more potetial than us, then I'd make a small bet about who would be better in a few years.
    (but i'm not a betting man.) :)

AB, you should up the bet, but have him give you odds. i.e. we'll be 4 or higher, your 250 against his Cross Country wagon.

    Safe bet. . . because I'm bold
    and I'm also Daring. . . .

    I'll say it. . .

THE ROCKETS WILL WIN THE MIDWEST DIVISION

    Call me a homer
    Call me a dreamer

Unless Robinson returns to form the Spurms well drop
10 games from last season's record [unless the sign
    someone worth a d*mn]

Barring Trade Dallas will lose 5 more games than they did
    this year

Rockets WILL win at least 50 games. . ..
    I'm thinking 55

Honestly, while I do think the Rockets will make the playoffs this coming season, I think a 6th seed is a bit high to hope for...I likely would not have made this bet.

Regardless of the ranking, I truely believe Houston can beat Dallas three out of four times this coming season. Mavs will become the Trail blazers, very strong on paper. Rockets will re-emerge as the team in 94.

Isn't it a bit early for you all to be drinking??

I think we could take the 7th or 8th seed last year(with everyone healthy), but the fact is that we have yet to see Yao or Nach play one game and Mo and Rice are coming off injuries, not to mentions Stevie Wonder's headaches. I wouldn't have made that wager just yet.

The Rox better make the playoffs or else...

6th seed might be a little high. You should have just bet on them making the playoffs.

I wonder what odds Vegas will have on the Rox winning it all.

You should've left a 7th seed loophole. An early season injury will earn you some sleepless nights...

I like your chances my friend. If we can land Shard that is just icing on the cake but I am still against us paying him max money, in a few years we'll have our fair share of max or close players.

Well, I don't know about that. I would do it if it was 3 to 2.

Its not that bad, aguirre was a really, really good player for a good while. He made it to like 7 all star games and scored like 20,000 points which is a good measuring stick in basketball. Zeke is a top 50, but if agurrie makes it inot the hof ws it such a bad pick. Zeke got the ring, but not until aguirre came aboard.
