So if this rumor is true from the Philly Insider.... Morey shoots down Williams + Iggy + Dalembert for Tmac + Lowry Understandable because Lowry is amazing. If we countered with Ariza instead of Lowry or Philly added a draft pick, then I would seriously consider it, although admittedly I havent seen much of Williams. Also management still seems high on Ariza for whatever reason. From reading Philly boards it seems Philly management wants to flip McGrady for talent without paying the tax (Deng was mentioned). I wonder if something like Houston Gets: Iggy Sammy Williams Chicago Gets: McGrady Cook Philly Gets: Miller Deng T.Thomas
We should get Deng for ourselves in order to increase the popularity with Chinese. Deng sounds Chinese. So does David Lee. I know lot of Chinese David Lees so when Yao is injured at least there's someone fans can identify with and vote for in all star games.
Hmn. For some reason I didn't think about sending talent to Philly. I kept focusing on Philly wanting to flush contracts and be a player in the summer of 2010. But a 3-way sending them talent makes sense. None of the big names will care to go to Philly....nothing against Philadelphia, mind you.
Just did this on ESPN Trade Machine!! 3 team deal with Houston/Philly/Washington. Rox get: Iggy/Dalembert/Butler. Wiz get: Ariza/Brand/T.Young. 6ers get: T-Mac/Jamison/David Anderson. Ya its kind of a Fantasy trade and very unlikely but Personally I think it helps everyone in the deal! Not very realistic but sure would be nice! This is outside the box, but what would you think of trading Shane Battier back to the Grizz for Thabeet? He has been playing well as of late and has NBA potential. He is our backup for Yao or our center if Yao leaves and helps protect that very vulnerable part of our front court ( kinda replaces Deke, only younger). We would still need a two, but things would be much easier with a defender behind everyone.
I agree. They are going to want a young asset or pick for him, after all he was the second pick. Also, he's a 7 footer with raw talent, so he's probably still has pretty good value with that added into the mix.
If the Grizz want vet leadership they will. I think we could maybe even get a Battier + Cook for Thabeet + Gay!

Curious why nobody has touched on the Vince/Rockets mention in this article. It was known we have wanted him for a few years now. I know he is past his prime, but then again look what we would be trading to get him. I really wonder if the Orl - Rox talk has any legs to it. I can recall in the off-season people predicting we will get Gortat at the trade-deadline this year, as Orl blocked Dallas from picking him up. Morey did chase Gortat in the off-season, so it does make you wonder. Oddly enough a: V. Carter and M Gortat for Mcgrady deal actually does work through the trade checker. Not that I think personally this would be a great deal, but its something to think about. I doubt any of us will be able to see Moreys motives at the deadline, but if the past has anything to do with it, you have to wonder if this is a deal we would chase.
I don't want to beat a dead horse, but this passage says they want defense for Thabeet and Shane is one of the best and still young enough to be attractive. There may need to be filler on both sides, but it does meet the rumor requirements.
Rumor has it that the Grizz may be willing to trade Gay at the deadline because they don't think they'll be able to counter any offers made by teams with available cap space. They said the Grizz would be interested in obtaining a veteran defensive minded leader for their team.
So, too, is VC/Nelson - McG/Lowry ... I just hope that DM the GM brings home more bacon than Vinsanity + big contract.
