If we could have hit more than 13% from the 3 point arc, we would have won that game. This team relies on outside shooting. When those shots are not falling....bad things happen to us. Here's to hoping the Ags start filling it up from downtown. Gig 'em.
Ziggy is talkin about the end of the oklahoma game when sloan threw the ball from halfcourt, I mean sloan was in the air when they called the foul technically should be 3 free throws
Come on there is no way they should have given him 3 free throws in that situation. He chunked the ball from like 70 ft.
Technically... he should have gotten 3. Just watch it, it speaks for itself. If it happened 30ft from the basket it would have been 3... what does 40 more feet change? Like I originally said though, I appreciate how college officiating is more honorable than the NBA's. But in reality, technically, that is 3 shots. No doubt about it.
Boy did we need that win ... Saturday's game against the Bears is going to be very tough, but winning this one took a lot of pressure off of that game. ... And in case you missed the dunk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIH4bzCRrw4
Considering that Ray Turner only has been able to practice since December and is a true freshman, he has the potential to be a very good player in this conference. There is reason for optimism.
I must have watched that video over 100 times, my goodness it was sick. We broke record attendance the last home game against tech, I expect us to shatter that record tomorrow night. I'm really hoping we beat them tomorrow, our players will be fired up after what happened when we beat them last year in Waco and their classless fans started throwing trash on the court. If we take care of business tomorrow, we would need 2 more wins after that and we're a lock for the big dance. Sloan will be ready <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4vfAw9OQG-s&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4vfAw9OQG-s&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Yeah bc that last play was soo classy Btw, Baylor beat A&M last year in Waco 72-68 so I guess you're referring to the season before last.
Taken out of context, it is completely and utterly classless, but considering the trash (literally) that was thrown on the court and the various insults hurled at or players by your disgusting "fans", it was absolutely appropriate and it served that piece of crap fanbase of y'all just right. FWIW, Sloan is known around the country as being one of the best behaved and classiest players there is. So on that play he was ticked off to a point where he felt the need to give that crowd what they deserve, and boy did he do that.
After the taunting and the trash throwing that he took all game long, it isn't like Sloan gave them the Vernon Maxwell treatment they likely deserved.
Yeah that had everything to do with the Baylor fans behavior that game. They needed to be baptized after everything they did that game! Lets be honest, both sides like that this has turned into a real rivalry at a high level. Thats about the only time I've ever seen the Aggies do something like that and in most instances (like the end of the recent game against tech), they just hold the ball and take a shot clock violation instead of trying to score. That said, I think today is going to be a VERY tough game for the Ags and to be honest I am not expecting to win unless we can somehow make our free throws and hit some 3 pointers which has not really happened all season. We are not going to be able to go 50% from the line and win like we did against Mizzou.
That's exactly what happened. It's so tough to win on the road in the big 12. A&M did a good job of not losing composure when Baylor was up 12 in the first half.
Definitely ... It helps that we shoot FTs so much better at home than on the road, and BJ finally hitting some 3s was huge! I think we end up ranked on Monday after beating Mizzou in Columbia and Baylor. If BJ and Khris can get some confidence in their shot, this could be a dangerous team going into the tourney. If they can't find their shot, then the sweet 16 is probably just a dream. And how about Ray Turner? That boy is showing some real potential. Its a shame he got screwed this year by the NCAA Clearinghouse sitting on their hands. He and the Ags could really have used the practice he would have gotten in the non-conf schedule.
Great win, awesome dunk by Sloan, awesome free throw shooting. I heard Coach Kubiak was there, that's really cool. Also: Derrick Roland wasn't walking around without crutches, and him and coach Turge joined the students in the post game war hymn. That was pretty sweet too.
During the Mizzou game they were saying he was about to start running and if the Ags made it into late March he might be able to play again. Seems like that would be an amazingly quick recovery.
Big 12 fan, primarily of Kansas State and Oklahoma State here: Congrats to the Ags - you guys are really playing well. I was shocked to see you guys beat Missouri on their homecourt but damn glad you did as I can't stand Missouri (bunch a punks especially that Dixon kid and Henry Bowers or is it Lawrence Bowers?). Any way, y'all are the last hope of beating Kansas. I think it is a pretty much done deal that KU is going to win the conference but would be nice to see them lose at least 1 conference game. If I had to rank the Big 12 as of how they are playing right now, this is how I would rank them: 1 - Kansas 2 - Kansas State 3 - Texas A&M 4 - Baylor 5 - Texas 6 - Missouri 7 - Texas Tech 8 - Oklahoma 9 - Oklahoma State 10 - Iowa State 11 - Colorado 12 - Nebraska Hard to believe that K-State lost at home to Oklahoma State who has completely disintegrated. Also hard to believe that Texas was 17-0 at one point and is now 19-5. Can't wait to see how the conference tournament plays out.
