Yes he is a failure cause he couldn't advance the Rockets to a playoff series win in his tenure. Give me Tracy's stats in the NBA Finals. Give me Tracy's stats in the Conference Finals. Give me Tracy's stats in the Semi Finals. Stats don't lie. 0.
All I have to say is look at his supporting cast when he first came.. TRASH.. GARBAGE... he finally got some decent players around him and Yao and they both are injured..... sucks.... Tmac is good.... "It's not his fault"
If I go by the list you just made Yao has a big ole number of 3 games worth of stats, man 3 is such an odd number of games to play in a series. Oh that's right like Mcgrady, Yao is just as unreliable as ever and gets injured by the touch of a dandelion. I'm not a fan of Mcgrady nor Yao it's just amazing how Yao is considered a success in Houston when in his time year he has accomplished nothing worth of note more than Mcgrady except for playing 3 extra games in the second round wow thats awesome
The Clippers were 37-45 in th 2004-05 season. The next season, they ADVANCED PAST THE FIRST ROUND. what happened? did they get 25 million dollar player? did they get a scoring champion? How did the laughing stock of the NBA have such a turnaround?
Part of the reason Yao's considered a success is that he didn't throw the team under a bus. Yeah, the most important factor is a player's tenure with this team but you can't ignore T-Mac's reputation in the league and his previous hitches with Toronto and Orlando. There's a reason that fans in those two cities hate his guts.
A good player to compare him to is Kevin Garnett. KG stayed with the Twolves when they had some HORRIBLE years and never took the easy road out. Eventually the team got better and the TWolves got to the WCF vs the Lakers. KG could have left when the going gets tough, but he didn't. He's Billy Ocean.
Tmac. Seriously, some of you need to get the hell over it and accept it. It's funny. If Tmac had advanced to the 2nd round, he'd be the only one to get credit, but since he fails his teammates get to shoulder the blame. Grow the F up Tmac apologists.
It remains to be seen... I think that the Tmac era may end with a "splash." If you know what I mean. With that said, this thread is arguing for sake of argument. It's beating a dead horse and is destined to go no where fast.
As it been stated before.. Health and lack of a decent supporting cast is why the T-mac/Yao era failed. It was either both T-Mac/Yao healthy and they didn't have good enough players around them to help them succeed or T-mac or Yao were hurt. I don't understand how people can honestly put the blame on T-mac or Yao for lack of playoff success. Its a team sport come on now. It just sucks cause last year was their best shot and couldn't stay healthy its unfortunate.
Tracy scored 13 points in 35 seconds Hakeem only won 2 championships 13>2 Tracy > Hakeem Rockets are gonna pay for freezing MACK out
Why the heck isn't "injuries" an option? And it was the T-Mac and Yao Era the failure isn't just on T-Mac.
Yeah, except there's every indication that Yao will be playing for the Rockets next year. And he isn't a second round virgin.
not really. he did have heart till he started giving up because his supporting cast sucked. --> when yao was hurt. so i really believe if he play now without all these drama, it'd be a different story.
