Weird though that the topic creator after a few post later brings up New Orleans as if it was on his mind at the time. Maybe New Orleans and Detroit is two teams involved.
Jackson AND Wallace? I don't even know how Jackson got entered in the conversation and this is getting too confusing haha. Can't wait to see what Morey has in store for us.
After 10 pages and tons of carp, I still don't get this thread - and a lot of intelligent people here are getting played....grrrr
This is the source: http://photobucket.com/images/gerald wallace http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/migo_24/1.jpg alt="gerald wallace Pictures, Images and... He was looking for Gerald Wallace pics, i don't think its prince he is hinting at...
If Charlotte is involved we can kiss Landry goodbye.. Meaning the 3rd team will probably give us an upgrade over Scolandry.
I completely agree. This was the very first thread I hit this morning; it's been far more fun than almost any thread I can think of in a while. I hope that OP wasn't just blowing smoke though, but actually had some information, whether it pans out or not. That would ruin it for me.
Agreed. He'll either reach legendary status as a guy who broke a major trade and be transformed from major ridicule to hero on the board...or he'll achieve board fame for getting so many of us hooked on his line. Either way, it's at least fun to come to the board and find something when we're all anxiously waiting for DM to drop the hammer on his next SPLASH!
To bad we will never know what deal he was talking about. What he did is basically say: Hey guys, I have inside info, I know a trade will go down.
I'm not sure how Jackson's name came into this, but you're right; for the most part he's not an upgrade. I've looked at his stats compared to Brook's and they're most about the same; Jackson has an edge in higher steal and lower TO's, averages a point or two more per game.....a bit better than Brooks, but I don't think I'd be willing to call him a significant upgrade in any way.
Ok. I'll ignore the validity of the information in question and bite because there is nothing to do right now but speculate anyhow... If the thread starter is hinting at Gerald Wallace, I wonder what Charlotte would take for him? My guess is that Charlotte wants to shed some salary and they'd be willing to give up Diaw and one of their centers for the right package. That got me thinking... What if we are sending McGrady to Philly for Iggy and Dalembert, but don't plan on bringing either of them back? Would Charlotte take Iggy and some combination of the Ariza or Cook contracts for Wallace, Diaw (who would likely be good in an Adelman system) and a center like N. Mohommed or Diop? Which brings me to the other clue offered in this thread... Could the Trailblazers be the final destination for Dalembert and would they be willing to throw in Oden (aka caveman) at this point due to his always injured status? What we know is they are desperate for size right now and Dalembert has been putting up some very good numbers recently. His contract is a lot more friendly than Dalembert and perhaps DM could imagine the two often injured centers splitting time next year? How about Dalembert and Scola to Portland for Rudy Fernandez (our legit 2), Greg Oden and Andre Miller (who never really bonded with his new coach)? That's a lot of moving parts, but it would also give us a pretty good team and the ability to still make a deal with Toronto for Bosh if one materializes around the deadline. We'd even have an extra point guard on hand in case we had to give one of ours up in a Toronto deal...
Since both Kaman and Davis are mentioned by posters in speculation and both players seem to match clues given by OP, here's some really basic stats from nba.com: Here's Chris Kaman's stats for this season: 2009-10 Statistics PPG 20.4 RPG 9.40 APG 1.9 EFF + 21.43 Born: Apr 28, 1982 Height: 7-0 / 2.13 Weight: 265 lbs. / 120.2 kg. College: Central Michigan Years Pro: 6 Here's Baron Davis for 2009-2010: 2009-10 Statistics PPG 16.4 RPG 3.60 APG 8.1 EFF + 18.54 Born: Apr 13, 1979 Height: 6-3 / 1.91 Weight: 215 lbs. / 97.5 kg. College: UCLA Years Pro: 10 Kaman's stats on the face of it are pretty darned good, especially as we really need a shot blocking presence in the paint. Davis's aren't as impressive, but as we all know, the basic bare stats don't tell everything.
Thread still going strong. I thought by now it would have been locked but Aussie_Fozzey must have something that is legit to have it still going. I hope we all find out soon what the trade is all about.
You guys may be right. A Kaman/Bosh front line sounds like an Adelman type front line with alot of fire and toughness.
I think we are all getting played by the Aussie. I mean, anyone could really say what he said, where is his credibility?! - long time reader, first time poster.
Wow, the DD machine hasn't posted more than 20 times in this thread. I can only see two reasons to this: a- he is dead b- aussie sent him and email and told the rumor i'm thinking the later..
just finalize the damn Amar'e deal that we've been attempting for some time now Bosh is a longer shot than Amar'e at this point http://www.azcentral.com/sports/sun.../20100117spt-suns-amare-stoudemire-trade.html
