    The allmighty wikipedia just says the coroner says it is a "death investigation." Don't know if that's true, and if so, what it means.

    I would think drugs. Cocaine wouldn't surprise me...You really hate to pass speculation though, and I'm an ass for doing so.

    Steroids cause health problems later in life so you wouldn't die of a heart attack while taking them.

    You would think a physical would have detected some sort of heart defect so I'm guessing drugs. Sad to see someone so young die.

    Adam_Schefter: Coroner ruled that Bears DE Gaines Adams died of cardiac arrest caused by an enlarged heart. Prayers are with his family and friends.

    Seems to be the case with most athletes(an enlarged heart). Not all but just seems that it is.
