I was under the assumption the 76ers already offered an Iguodala/Dalembert for McGrady trade. Why would we throw in Cook and Taylor in a four team trade?
HOU Mac protected 1st Washington Foye Butler Haywood why houston does it. obviously, we get another perimeter scorer, a border line all star PG and a good C why washington does it. start over, that team has too much talent but they aren't going anywhere. they need to get rid of a few pieces and start over with youth.
Check this one out: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ygr8sl9 * Rockets: C: Bosh/Hayes/Anderson (and Yao) PF: Landry/Bosh/Dorsey SF: Ariza/Thornton/Budinger SG: Budinger/Gordon/Taylor PG: Davis/Lowry (and Conroy maybe) => Clippers get a new young and cheaper starting PG in Brooks. McGrady and Griffin can become their dynamic duo next season (if they stay both healthy). The Clippers can afford to resign T-Mac next season after they ship away Kaman and Davis with their big contracts. => Raptors get with Kaman their starting C for years. Battier and Scola can also play right away in their starting line-up. Cook is just an expiring contract. They get 3 (very) good starting line-up players in return for Bosh and ship with Nesterovic and Wright only 2 bench players away. => Rockets get their all-star level player in Bosh. Davis at pointguard and his bad contract is maybe not the best part of the deal, but i think you can give it a shot. DM is looking for young talent in return also? Gordon and Thorton are both very good IMO, maybe they can develop in a star if they play for the Rockets.
I don't know many, i think the Rox are giving up too much, i mean Cook and Taylor? Even Dorsey? Cook would start on any other team and Taylor and Dorseys are future all stars No way Rox does this trade.
I still think we should pull the trigger on the Iggy tade (Igoudala + Dalambert for McGrady) but only if Morey can follow it up with this deal (Ariza+Scola+Cook for Beasley+Richardson) Then hope for Al-Farouq Aminu in the draft Split MLE with Lowry and picks Yao/Dalambert/Andersen Beasley/Landry/Hayes Battier/Richarson/Aminu Igoudala/Budinger/Taylor Brooks/Lowry/Vets min
dude they put it out (76ers) that they arent giving AI for just Dalemberts contract. And if anything Brand is they're priority to get rid of.
Adjusted to fit what 76ers are looking for, to get rid of both Dalemberts and Brands contracts using AI as the sweetener. Assuming they are also trying to gut the team this year. We might have to use a rookie contract like Bud to sweeten the deal for the 76ers. Raptors, unlike what a lot of traders on here are thinking, DO NOT want a expiring contract. They feel that being in Toronto, (cold life, higher tax, not US) its hard to attract players so they want some years. We use Landry with them as our sweetener. He might even get to start with them. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yztjukp Now things that come to mind is that Toronto isnt happy with Jose's play since coming off of injury. This might have to take part in play whether he gets traded or they get a PG in return.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ylcgyed Rockets Gain: Granger, Hinrich, Noah, Murphy, Head Lose: McGrady, Brooks, Andersen, Budinger, Battier, Landry Pacers Gain: Deng, Budinger, Battier, Landry Lose: Granger, Murphy, Head Bulls Gain: McGrady, Brooks, Andersen Lose: Deng, Hinrich, Noah Rockets outlook: PG: Lowry, (Hinrich) SG: Ariza, Hinrich SF: Granger, (Ariza) PF: Murphy, Scola, Hayes C: Yao, Noah Total salary, assuming we bring back Lowry at 4 million and pick up Chuck's option, will come to around 70 million. I guess we add some more to take into account the draft picks? I like the makeup of that team quite a lot. We add a proven scorer in Danny Granger who has an affordable contract. I think we would have enough depth in the front court to reduce Yao's minutes to 25-30 minutes per game. Rebounding, lack of size, and interior defense should not be an issue. Troy Murphy will provide much desired floor spacing and offensive versatility at the 4. Lowry+Hinrich would be interesting combination because both are defensive minded players that can handle the ball. We may actually move Ariza to the bench and start those two. I hate to lose Landry, Brooks, Budinger, and Battier, but I believe this gives the team a better shot at contending.
two trades b/t Rockets & Sixers, Warriors Houston gets: 6'11 Randolph(PF/C) 6'6 Maggette(SG)* 7'0 Dalembert(C)* 6'7 Iguodala(SG/SF) 6'4 Holiday(PG) The rockets do it b/c they get some size and length in the front court, while getting some young high potential assets in Holiday & Randolph Philadelphia gets: 6'8 McGrady(SG/SF) 6'9 Cook (PF) Philly does it b/c they get to get out of Iggy's and Dalemberts long contracts...while getting 26.3 million to come off the books this off-season for the 2010 Free Agency... Golden State gets: 6'9 Landry(PF) 6'8 Battier(SF) 6'5 Taylor(SG) G. State does it to get out of Maggette's long contract, while getting a young talented PF in Landry, and veteran Leadership in Battier...plus I heard rumors Randolph is on the trading block... --RB
Why does everyone think they want out of AI's contract. They have two priorities to move. Brand then AI and they already said so many time AI wont be move just for Brand or Dalembert. Geez
It's all right with me. I don't want Murphy but he isn't bad. Head can be eventually cut. You have to give up quite a bit to get somewhere.
If you've followed the Pacers this season, you know you don't want Murphy in. He just knows how to lose.
