When have the Rockets been disloyal to him. He's never been a Rocket, so saying not drafting him is being disloyal is silly.

Seattle should be interested in KT because they do not have a PF after the trade.

I don't see any reason for the Mavs to give up Nash for a player they don't really need. That team needs Nash, as he is probably their most valuable starter other than Dirk.

As for the whole Lewis negotiations...now that Dallas is close to signing him, that almost forces the Rockets to go after him. It'll look silly on our part if we don't do all we can to get him in Houston and let a division rival sign him. Immediately after the draft, I didn't think it was all that necessary to go after him. Now, it's almost crucial to keep him out of Dallas. (I'm not worried about Dallas at the current moment, even with Rashard...I'm worried that they'll figure out that they need a big man and start looking to trade some of this talent)

The Franchise
Mooch
The Cat
Shard
Boki
Mo-Tay
Eddie
Ming Dynasty
(sigh) Cato

KT, T-Mo, Rice: trade bait?

Tell me the above team wouldn't draw crowds and win games.

Not to mention bust the salary cap, but we'll leave that out.

Yep, I'd love to trade for Shard, but I think the BYC prevents a real swap. 'Cause Mo + T-Mo for Rashard would be a nice, even trade...except for the BYC.

in a nutshell ....

when Rashard signs a new contract with Sea, even if it's for a sign and trade, he will become a Base Year Contract player. Which means if Sea were to trade him they can only get around half of his salary back in trade at max.

but since the Rockets are over the cap, they can't just trade players worth half Lewis's contract to obtain Lewis and absorb the other half of his contract. They would need to send the players worth half(or less) of Lewis's contract to Seattle and the rest of the player(s) to a team that is under the cap(washington, bulls, clipps) and willing to take on contracts.

It just makes it a lot harder to deal and teams aren't looking to do the Rocks favors ya know.

heres a threeway I think Krouse or sterling would do

sonics get: fizor + filler
rox : lewis
bulls : rice/moochie or rice/cato

or

clipps get : thomas/cato
sonics: wilcox /mcginnis
rox:lewis

any thoughts?

1. Why wouldn't the bulls just try to get Lewis outright with that package instead of getting overpaid Rocket bench players? I don't think Chicago would bite on that. Doesn't really help the bulls at all.

2. Clipps are too cheap to pay their franchise players money, so why would they want to pay Cato's contract, and give up wilcox, their newest indentured servant?

Guys, why the hell would Seattle take Nash or Van Exel from Dallas? They already have two scoring pg's in Anderson and Payton. IMO Houston has the best chance to land Rashard.
